On cruises now what is the general guidance and guidelines as it’s a minefield.

On the actually ship do you not need masks now anywhere?

At ports and countries you stop at, what do you need tests as well? Do you have to pay for them? Book them first?

What happens when you come back aboard, are you tested again, who pays etc?

Any other comments/help on it all please?

It all depends on your cruise line’s rules and on the requirements of each port country/region, etc.

Our preferred line requires pre-cruise testing at your expense (as do many countries where you’d embark - and the airlines that take you there) and provides any required testing during the cruise (at their expense.)

Masks are required on the ship according to what are the current port requirements but can be expanded to time while at sea if the ship’s master  or the cruise line requires it.

Even without the requirements, savvy travelers will test at least 24-48 hrs pre-flight AND pre-cruise and wear masks onboard except in your cabin or when seated and eating/drinking.

Ah really, so still seems a lot of restrictions and costs attributed to it.

Looking at TUI (Marrlla) and PO cruises). It’s difficult to attain what the rules are. Which is your preferred line to connect to the rules you state please?

Suggest you ask this on the forum for the specific cruise line you will be sailing on.   It isn't one generic policy for all lines and they are very fluid at this juncture in time.

We prefer Oceania because they are very concerned about public health and take great care of their passengers. (Plus they have the undisputed “Finest Cuisine at Sea”™️

If you are considering Marella and P&O-UK likely your ports will be in Europe and may be quite different from the ports visited on cruises from the US.  Most of the people reading your thread will not notice that you are in the UK and give irrelevant advice.  EM
