Iamthesea Posted April 22, 2022 #51 Share Posted April 22, 2022 That's the site that I used! Trawick and John Hancock are our top picks, but checking with IMG LX, as well.

Something I recently noticed about Trawick - trip interruption covers prepaid nonrefundable expenses but not return transportation. It appears to cover it along with meals and hotels under trip delay. If that is the case, the the limits may not be as generous as they appear. You’d have to subtract an estimate of air fare to see how much is left for housing, etc. Ask for clarification before you buy.

zitsky Posted April 22, 2022 #54 Share Posted April 22, 2022 In my 30s I didn't bother with trip insurance. I'm invincable. What will go wrong? In my 50s with Covid I think it's really stupid to not have some trip insurance.
VitaminSea53 Posted April 22, 2022 #55 Share Posted April 22, 2022 Has anyone used the Chase Sapphire credit card trip interruption / cancellation coverage? Supposedly as long as you pay with your Chase Sapphire card, you are coverd.

Supposedly as long as you pay with your Chase Sapphire card, you are coverd. The trip interruption coverage offered by Chase covers prepaid nonrefundable expenses if your trip is cut short, but it does not provide for return transportation or additional expenses like hotel and meals as a comprehensive policy does. The trip delay provision is only $500 for common carrier delay. Neither provision gives you the coverage you need if you are quarantined. Cancellation must be for one of the covered reasons defined in the benefits guide, but there is language regarding pre-existing conditions. Depending on which card you have, you may not have any coverage with a pre-existing condition or there may be a 60 day look-back period.
