willise Posted April 19, 2022 #1 Share Posted April 19, 2022 Hi all, Hoping to get back into cruising after the last tow "dry" years 🙂 One question I have is related to the new NCL website - where do you determine the room layout, specifically if the bed or the sofa is by the balcony door? That used to be available in the rom description on the old site, but I can't seem to locate it now. Thanks!!

Best way is recent internet postings or recent photos or videos on a cruise deck plan site. Some post question about specific room number here and get lucky. 1
Rare mking8288 Posted April 19, 2022 #3 Share Posted April 19, 2022 @willise - just to add on what our CC friend, Dexddd wrote - depending on what specific ships you have in mind, (you've on the Getaway before) the "current" deck plans on other ships do not show where the beds & sofabed/pull down (for the 4th person) are. The ones with the bed next to the closet/nearest to the bathroom - is always a tight squeeze to get in/out of that side of the bed. The trick is to get the Room Steward to move the micro nightstand out of the way on the opposite side away, from the closet - and, slide the beds over by about a foot - make a world of difference to someone of "plus" size. I can't vouch for the Bliss/Encore, however on these generalizations. Another way is to call & speak to a NCL agent/PCC - I believe they have more data/details at their disposal, at least the one I spoke to recently, when helping us to select one, based on our preference.

I just looked at my pic from my room on the Bliss, the one between the bed and the sofa (in a room with the bed near the closet) appears to be the same as the one between the bed and the sofa on the Joy (in a room with the bed by the balcony), that I found WAS movable.
smokeykat Posted April 19, 2022 #5 Share Posted April 19, 2022 PCC do not always know. I am booked on Joy cabin 10856 and she had no idea where the bed was positioned. I would love to know 😉
Rare CaptainBazz Posted April 19, 2022 #6 Share Posted April 19, 2022 In my experience on the larger ships the rooms for 4 people with a '+' sign have the bed near the balcony. That was on the Escape and the Encore.
