Smoking on board

This will be our second Norwegian cruise and I don’t remember about smoking on board the first. Does Norwegian allow any indoor smoking on board it’s ships? I am truly hoping not but want to know upfront.

Thank you!

Casino, if you're playing, and the cigar lounge if the ship has one.  Some ships (Bliss, Encore and Joy) have a walled-off smoking area of the casino.  Otherwise smoking should only be in designated outdoor areas.

On the Breakaway, the majority of the indoor areas on 6/7/8 smell like an old Vegas Casino and they do allow smoking in the casino which is open to all three decks.  They all reek.  They also allow smoking outside in a designated area near the pool and around the bar area at Spice H2O (back of the ship, adults only area for most of the day).  Really wish they would not allow it inside or reconfigure the layout of the Casino on the breakaway and create a walled off smoking area.  It just makes the boat smell awful and old.

Does anyone know where the Outside Smoking areas are on The Joy? We have a 2 Balcony Cabins on Deck 9 Starboard above the Waterfront near the rear (9928-30). Just want to make sure we are not above a designated smoking area.

Thanks for your assistance !!!

Starboard side of Spice H2O (aft, deck 17), in the Humidor cigar lounge (cigars only) and in the designated area of the casino, only while playing.

We’ve only been on the Breakaway once, this past October. The ship was only at 38% capacity, and we rarely saw anyone in the casino, including smokers. Still, the casino and the surrounding decks absolutely reeked of smoke. I couldn’t imagine eating at the nearby Noodle Bar.   What a poor design.
