It’s interesting that there are daily captain’s announcements on some ships or sailings, but not others. Here on Apex, they’re on the schedule and I think we have one in a few minutes at 10 am, but haven’t for a few days.

IME there has been a Captains Daily announcement, normally at 10am on sea days and just before departure on port day.  This has been consistent for a long time.  If you are in your cabin you will not hear the announcement unless you have the TV on to the view from the bridge channel (?) and the volume up.  Also if you are in a noisy public space it is easy to miss the announcement.
We were on the Apex 4 16-23 and there was an announcement every day.

There hasn’t been an announcement every day on this 4/23-4/30 Apex sailing. There was one today and I was able to hear it - some warmly delivered commentary and info. from the captain. Zero mention of covid and no info. available re cases on board when asked on a behind-the-scenes tour. Fortunately, we have been careful and well to date!  I’m not surprised that Celebrity isn’t making info. about cases on board available, though I would welcome some kind of (even-discreetly given) info. as I think it helps when making your own choices aboard as to activities and masks, etc.  It seems a bit strange.  I recall on one of the message threads recently that someone mentioned cruising on another line (carnival?) and how they’d had no cases. This seemed unlikely, statistically, but probably points to how well that line was doing at doing what I guess celebrity is also doing - keeping info. re cases on what they’ve decided is a need-to-know basis.  Anyhow wish our cruise were longer, as it’s been lovely!

p.s. I just saw a post by @the penguins relaying a response re: official policy that would indicate we should be having case numbers transparently shared on board. Oh well. Maybe that’s happening on another ship!

Captain Costas on Edge last month made a point of mentioning the Covid numbers every day in hos 10am announcement, in the spirit of full transparency. I do find it hard to believe that there could be zero on the Mardi Gras with 5,800 people + crew. But if you don't say anything I guess it doesn't exist, sorta like not testing so there wont be any cases.

My particular comments shouldn't be construed as a record of fact that there aren't Covid cases on the MardiGras. What I was implying that there's been no evidence of it,in other words no missing staff,no mention of it from anyone on board,no employees in hazmat suits, etc. I spoke to two employees in  different areas( one server mentioned how nice and easy we were to talk to ) when asked directly neither shared that there were Covid issues on the ship. So take that for what it is.

Sorry if my post came across that way.I didn’t intend on inferring that. No worries. I just think it would be quite the statistical anomaly if most of the Covid cases on ships is on Celebrity.

On one of our cruises we were told by a crew member, they were told not discuss Covid #s with guests.

I don't doubt that. But when a ship is shutting down whole areas,IE. Casino not being opened, no production shows, a guest going through 3??? Butlers that's a serious Covid issue(Referring to Apex and Silhouette). I'm on day 13 on the MardiGras and there have been zero interruptions in services, venues and activities. All shows going on,all venues open, no dining room service interruptions.

We disembarked from Apex on 4.23….started feeling bad with difficulty breathing back in Austin on 4.24…believed it to be oak pollen…got worse and last night tested positive for COVID-19….see Doc this afternoon hope to be back at full speed soon

Similar story. Returned from last week’s cruise on Apex. Both COVID positive this week. My wife developed first symptoms on Sunday, so likely we caught it on the cruise, not on the plane. Slowly recovering. Will be ok.

We also got off on Saturday. and fly home that day.    DH developed symptoms on Tuesday and tested positive, I have been fine.  Our plane home was full, not a empty seat and maybe 20 wearing masks including us.  We were not seated together so not sure if he got it on the ship or the plane.  Or for that matter at a party Saturday night.

My understanding is that the cast of Caravan was in isolation during our cruise.  Not sure about Rockumentary.

Rockumentary did not show during our cruise due to new Production Cast practicing to perform Tree of Life for the first time. It was too labor intensive to "build" the tree for practice and the stage for Rockumentary at same day.
