Tprato Posted April 25, 2022 #1 Share Posted April 25, 2022 Good Morning All, I am reaching out to see if any of you have any information about when upgrade requests are usually approved before sail date. I sail out on my cruise next Wednesday May 4th 2022. Just wondering when you usually hear back about your bid being approved for an upgrade. Thanks so much for any and all help! cuterlmt Posted April 25, 2022 #2 Share Posted April 25, 2022 On our last two cruises, we heard 2-3 days before sailing.

Our cruise leaves this Saturday, April 30. This morning , many from our RollCall are reporting receiving emails confirming they won their upgrades. 10 reported getting upgraded from balcony to Club balcony for minimum bids. Based on this timing , I would think you would hear something Wednesday.. Good Luck.

On a more "normal" Saturday/Sunday departure, they begin processing the final upgrades on Monday of that week. Upgrades can occur up to 24 hours prior to departure. The latest we got a Haven upgrade is 3 days prior to departure.

IF you are eligible for the program, the link below "should" work. (Also, need to be within their dates of eligibility -- after final payment!) https://upgrade.plusgrade.com/offer/NCL/
complawyer Posted April 26, 2022 #7 Share Posted April 26, 2022 lorwill. if you are/become eligible for am upgrade, if you log on when you get to view reservations, it will say "lets get you upgraded" and give you your choices. if this screen doesnt appear, it's likely you arent eligible

Rare Nclgetawaymenhoney Posted April 26, 2022 #9 Share Posted April 26, 2022 It has nothing to do with first time cruiser, it has to do with timing and whether you booked with ncl or travel agent. A lot of travel agency do not participate so you then can’t take advantage of the program also the program if your eligible does not occur until between 55 to 80 days prior to sail date. Also they normally don’t award upgrade until 2 to 5 days prior to sailing
lorwill Posted April 26, 2022 #10 Share Posted April 26, 2022 I’ve probably made the mistake of booking with a travel agent! Thank you very much for clarification 😊
complawyer Posted April 26, 2022 #11 Share Posted April 26, 2022 well, if there is no charge for cancellation with the travel agent, go to the ncl website, plug in the ship, dates and embarkation points. if there is a price difference, or better perks, merely cancel with your agent and book yourself. i have posted before, im very anal when it comes to selecting/booking a cruise. i prefer to do all the research and booking my self. that being said, we also belong to casinos at sea, and have a wonderful lady who is a godsend and save us a boat (forgive the pun) load of money. and they are correct, y our status or the number o f times sailed on ncl is irrelevant . if you are eligible, you'll get the offer when you check your reservation status

Thank you very much for clarification 😊 If you booked with big box travel agency they do not participate in Upgrade Advantage. We usually book with them but this time did not as it was after final payment when we booked cruise. We could not transfer our booking to Costco after final payment date deadline. We found last minute discounted fares on cruise to Alaska and booked within 3 weeks of cruise. Had multiple offers to upgrade. We did end up upgrading to Haven! Justwannacruis3 Posted April 26, 2022 #13 Share Posted April 26, 2022 Our upgrade results (not awarded) we’re emailed to us the morning before we boarded.
lorwill Posted April 27, 2022 #14 Share Posted April 27, 2022 I've booked through Cruise118 in UK. Been waiting for 48 hours for them to contact me, despite numerous calls, emails and messages! I am wanting to change the flights. I even contacted NCL to see if they can take over the booking, due to the absolute lack of after sales service. They were unable to help.
