Buckimion Posted April 26, 2022 #1 Share Posted April 26, 2022 (edited) I tried a few minutes ago to book an excursion, but after checking out, I noticed that they had given us an afternoon time when I had wanted an open morning time. I canceled the excursion that was paid for with a gift card but right now the system is tied up to where I can't book the correct time. ("Conflicting excursion") How long until this will clear and will the funds be put back on the gift card so I could use it to buy the correct time excursion? klfrodo Posted April 26, 2022 #2 Share Posted April 26, 2022 It could be a month before the credit is placed back onto the gift card. Or, they might send you a new gift card for that amount. Either way, that money is gone for a month or so.
Rare Thenagers Posted April 26, 2022 #3 Share Posted April 26, 2022 I canceled a drink package i purchased (with giftcard) from the Funshops and got a new physical gift card in the mail in about a week?
Nog Vlog Posted April 26, 2022 #4 Share Posted April 26, 2022 Yeah you will be getting the refund on a new card for the exact amount in the mail. Mine historically came via FedEx from Minnesota with time varying to a few days to a few weeks.
n6uqqq Posted April 26, 2022 #5 Share Posted April 26, 2022 Carnival never recharges gift cards. I cancelled an excursion paid with gift cards and they were relatively quick( at 1 week) to get my new gift card via FEDEX 2nd day air.
flcraigs5 Posted April 26, 2022 #6 Share Posted April 26, 2022 By chance does anybody know if I use a carnival gift card toput money in my onboard account and dont use it all do I lose that money at the end of the cruise?
Rare Thenagers Posted April 26, 2022 #7 Share Posted April 26, 2022 If you load it on to your account on board, you should get it back on a Gift card. If under a certain amount they donate to ST Judes. Someone needs to clarify the ammount? Maybe $10? If cruise cash or OBC, you use it or lose it. Your best bet on those situations is to use it in the casino. I have been told you can cash it out in a machine but have not tried. I know you need to play a little but you also could get lucky. Buckimion Posted April 26, 2022 Author #8 Share Posted April 26, 2022 The tie up on buying the replacement excursion cleared after about an hour. Late last night, I got an email from Carnival acknowledging the cancellation of the original excursion and saying that money would be 'put back into my account' within five to seven business days. It did not clarify if that was going to be an onboard credit as nothing would set was said about putting it on a gift card.

That's because their system defaults to thinking that everything was paid by credit card. They will be mailing you a new gift card. Carnival gift cards are NOT reloadable. Even if they wanted to put the money back on the gift card, it simply cannot be done (caveat - if the transaction was cancelled before being finalized, the money would go back to the card, but this is very, very rare).
Buckimion Posted April 27, 2022 Author #10 Share Posted April 27, 2022 Just for the record, I received my e-gift card refund overnight (I also had used an e-gift card originally), roughly 55 hours after submittal.
