Qextor Posted May 2, 2022 #1 Share Posted May 2, 2022 How are people planning to get from from the dock at Ward Cove to downtown Ketchikan? Especially for those who aren''t taking a tour that provides round trip transport. I've tried getting answers from Royal about whether there was a shuttle to downtown, but to no avail. The phone lines are way too long to ask an actual agent.
kattybiz Posted May 2, 2022 #2 Share Posted May 2, 2022 Was just at Ward Cove on NCL 2 days ago...there's a shuttle bus to Ketchican that was free of charge. Dropped us off at Port 2. Last shuttle was at 2:30 for a 4pm departure.
quack2 Posted May 2, 2022 #3 Share Posted May 2, 2022 Ward Cove sucks.
J0Y0US Posted May 3, 2022 #4 Share Posted May 3, 2022 Should be a free shuttle. It will possibly get backed up so get off as early as you can to try and beat some of the crowd.

How many people who book a cruise would check to see where their ship is docking. If it says, tender, that is one thing.

Rare mkkao924 Posted May 3, 2022 #7 Share Posted May 3, 2022 Wondering how to know where we will be docking? I am looking at this document: KTN-Ketchikan-2022.pdf It has 1, 2, 3, 4, WW, WE, AN3, B3T. Which one(s) are Ward Cove?

kona_wahine Posted May 3, 2022 #9 Share Posted May 3, 2022 We are only there from 7am to 1:15, reserved the duck boat but now thinking of cancelling and just walking around the town for a bit. Hmmm….

disneylover89 Posted May 3, 2022 #11 Share Posted May 3, 2022 Does WE and WW use different buses? I see a ship will be at each of these ports at the same time (July 29) and I'm afraid it will be a long wait for buses if you don't have an excursion planned

Do you know how long it would take to get off the ship and into town by shuttle if not booked on a cruise ship tour? Was there a long wait for the shuttles?

It was about 20 minutes to get into town once the shuttle left. We waited maybe 10 minutes for the shuttle to fill and then left...there was another one coming in right behind us.

For a 4pm departure, with an onboard of 3:30, the last shuttle to the ship should really be more like 3:00 or so. 2:30 is just further eating into your available time. They said that was 1:30 going from the ship to the town not the other way around.
