Civitavecchia - Europcar

Our 1st time to Italy and we get off the Epic later this month and have a rental car reserved at the Europcar in 

Civitavecchia.  Can you walk there from the port?   Doesn't look to far but map is bad.  Do we just grab a taxi?  Thanks

it's about 45 minutes to an hour to get from the port to rome itself. the traffic in rome is horrendous and i'm not sure its such a great idea to rent a car.  the 2 times we were on a cruise where rome was one of the ports, i merely hired a cab for the day. it was around $100 but that was a few years ago.  ive been driving for 58 years, and i wouldnt even consider driving in rome. the locals are "NUTS"

Where are you wanting to go to?  IIRC. Europcar is very close, half a block from where the shuttle bus drops you.

The Europcar office in Civitavecchia is at Via Tarquinia, 19/27, which is right across the street from the port shuttle drop off point.  It could not be closer.

Thanks. Glad it's close. 

And no, we are NOT driving to Rome. We are heading south down the coast. No way I would drive in Rome.  Scotland was enough fun for me.

If you had fun in Scotland, you will LOVE Naples 🤪 They drive on both sides of the road...at the same time😬

 

Seriously though, driving is ok - parking...let's just say Italians can be very creative when it comes to parking 😲
