Bordeaux River Cruise - Scenic or Amawaterways?

Looking at doing a Bordeaux river cruise on either Scenic or Ama in April 2023.  We just got back from a great Scenic cruise on the Douro, but have not tried Ama before.

 

We are foodies and love wine tasting.

 

Scenic would be 11 nights on the Diamond, and Ama would be 8 nights on the AmaDolce with pre and post cruise excursions.

I have been studying that exact choice.  Based on the itinerary, Scenic.  Based on excursion choices that aren't all wine-tasting: Scenic.  Based on our recent back-to-back AMA-Scenic experience: Scenic.  [Reviews and blog of those cruises will be coming soon.]

I am booked on the Scenic Bordeaux cruise in August. If you can wait that long, ask me then.

 

I have been on Viking's cruise in Bordeaux some years ago and it was brilliant, but I undertand they've since cut down on the winery visits....

Our Scenic Bordeaux cruise was superb and there are new additions to the itinerary now so would do it again. The wine waiter went out of his way to select wines with little or no merlot grape in a difficult feat in that region. Merlot does not like me.
