woostergirl Posted May 22, 2022 #1 Share Posted May 22, 2022 I'm on the Ruby out of San Francisco on June 29th. Our itineary has changed and our Icy Strait Point port time is now 3p-10p. We are on the excusion Best Of Icy Strait Point: Whales, Wildlife & Brown Bear Search but online the excursion still says "2p-730p". It is sold out at this time with the waitlist open. Will they move the time of this excursion to accomodate our new port times? I'm wondering if I should cancel and book a non-Princess excursion, but I haven't found an exact replacement. Lots of whale watching tours but can't find any that is a whale/bear combo, so I'm hoping they will just shift the time for the Princess excursion. Any thoughts from seasoned cruisers on what Princess might do? Many thanks!
skynight Posted May 22, 2022 #2 Share Posted May 22, 2022 Excursion department will adjust the times. You will receive a notice probably on the ship. Nothing to worry about. It has happened before and will again.
Parrottdizes Posted May 22, 2022 #3 Share Posted May 22, 2022 While I can't answer to your pacific excursion; I have had Princess excursions booked in the past that were stated to start before the ship docked. Princess does adjust the time of the excursion to work with the time you are to be in port.....at least in my case that has happened.
Mike45LC Posted May 22, 2022 #4 Share Posted May 22, 2022 This is one of the benefits of booking your excursion through the cruise line. Princess will work with the tour provider to make sure that the tour can accommodate the ship’s schedule.
Rare Cruise Raider Posted May 22, 2022 #5 Share Posted May 22, 2022 As others have noted, they will definitely adjust the time of your excursion. You don't want to cancel and rebook it. You will probably not be able to get it again. From what I've seen at Icy Strait Point, there is only that one excursion that is sold through the cruiselines and doubt if you will be able to locate a similar one on your own. BTW, I've been on that tour before and it's a great one. You will see whales, guaranteed and we even saw a grizzly on the shoreline.
woostergirl Posted May 23, 2022 Author #6 Share Posted May 23, 2022 Thanks to everyone! I will hold on to the Princess excursion I have booked. @Cruise Raider I'm excited as it's our only boat-based excursion we booked. Fingers crossed we get to see a grizzly too!
Firepath Posted May 24, 2022 #7 Share Posted May 24, 2022 They adjusted our Juneau excursion by an hour because our arrival time changed. They automatically cancelled and credited my card when they cancelled Ketchikan. We didn’t get an email either time.
