How does the "Drinks on Us" Casino deal work? Help! :D

Picked up a cruise for this coming weekend for only 20 bucks for the hubby and I. I am a huge drinker and I noticed it comes with "drinks on us when you are gambling" How does this actually work? Do I have to be actively gambling or can I just roll by the casino at anytime and get a drink there? Does the casino even have to be open?

I prefer the drinks in the casino to the main deck stuff so I'm pretty happy!

You must be actively gambling.  So it only applies when the casino is open and you cannot just walk up to the casino bar.  You must get a server to bring you your drink.  Now once you have the drink in hand you are not required to stay in the casino until the drink is consumed.  There have been times that I have gotten a drink and then met my wife for a show.

Also keep in mind that if you are like me, you might go through your gambling pretty quick. I have sat at a slot machine and waited for a server and when one finally came, ordered my drink and waited and by the time they brought the drink, I had already lost all I planned to lose at that sitting. So I have learned to find server before I sit down and often will wait to really play until I get my drink (ie just go really slow).  It can be really frustrating depending on the number of servers on duty or how busy they are.  But it is free so....

It's a loser for you, the player/drinker.

It's a mind game, you need to play to get a drink and if you wait long enough, you will play enough to have paid for the drink anyway, giving you the illusion of receiving something free.

Pay for drinks, save money

Tip the server $5.00 cash the first drink and $2.00 thereafter, you will pretty well get a drink every 10-12 minutes.

Tipping to get preferred treatment arguments? Wrong thread.

Spending tip money in a casino knowing you will get great service and saves the "I just lost $25 waiting 20 minutes for my drink" can save you hundreds over a cruise.

I had this in march on the Magic. A trick is to catch a server at the bar when they are putting orders in, and if they are nice they will order it for you.  The bartender will make it right then.  Most will do it. Tip them a couple bucks,  still cheaper then buying outright. It’s still a pain in the butt though.

Leaving this Sat. on the Legend out of Baltimore.  We booked with Special Players Club Offer.

It said "drinks on us.  Included while playing the the casino."  It also shows a rate code  PSE that

that will automatically applied at checkout.  Looked at my invoice and there is no mention of code PSE. We are VIFP Club members.  Does this drink offer refer to me and my DH.

Anyone else had this offer.  If so, how did it work.

I’m booked using a casino offer on the Valor in July and they were very clear that the Drinks on Us was only for me.

How do the servers know that you're a Drinks On Us passenger?

It doesn't matter to them. They ring in your folio number and your drink order (they do not enter a price) and it spits out a receipt.

Casino perks are never listed on your booking information.  VIFP status means nothing for casino offers.  As noted, the offer would have explicitly noted "you and a companion" if it included a second person.
