nancyjane55 Posted June 2, 2022 #1 Share Posted June 2, 2022 We have the signature beverage package and would like to know if we want a more expensive glass of wine do we just pay the difference or do we have to pay the full amount? TIA
Alberta Quilter Posted June 2, 2022 #2 Share Posted June 2, 2022 You will pay the full amount. You could try to upgrade to the Elite Beverage Package, once onboard, which would include more expensive wines and alcohol. I believe the limit is $15. Yes, you have to pay the full drink price--plus mandatory 18% tip--for any drink exceeding the package limit. Drinks falling within the $11 Signature/$15 Elite package price limit do not get charged the 18% tip.

Seems to vary by ship and even which person you ask onboard. Typical HAL - inconsistant policies. Edited June 2, 2022 by DaveOKC
nancyjane55 Posted June 2, 2022 Author #6 Share Posted June 2, 2022 Thanks for the replies! I think we’ll stick with the signature bev pkg and maybe splurge on a nice glass of wine once or twice.

The guy likes his wines! 🍷

I found a number of nice wines included in the basic package ($11 or less), but then again I am fairly easily satisfied.

Me too.🙂 There are some whites (pinot grigio and sauvignon blanc) and a merlot that I enjoyed.
rochelle_s Posted June 2, 2022 #11 Share Posted June 2, 2022 I upgraded my package once I boarded the Eurodam in November. I did not think there was enough wine options to make this worthwhile to do again in the future. I must say though if you are a whiskey /liquor drinker I think this would be a great option. debdiva Posted June 4, 2022 #12 Share Posted June 4, 2022 If you can't find a wine under the $11 mark that appeals to your tastes that day, prosecco is always an option 🥂
Brewgirl1 Posted June 6, 2022 #13 Share Posted June 6, 2022 I bought a drink card incase we wanted something over $11, never used it. We ended up just using it for a bottle of wine last night of our cruise.
