A Canadian takes on a B4B on Oasis 6/5/22 - 7/1/22

So much for the LA telling me they would be running out of totes! It appears they might have gotten a new shipment. 🤣

We ended up with more being dropped off today.  I think the total count is 17 - we brought two of them home on the first cruise filled with dirty laundry and left them at the house.

Remind me to call C&A when I get home to change our amentity selection to something else.  😂😂😂

We went to Playmakers earlier and hummed and hawed whether to share a nacho or an onion ring.  We chose nachos and were disappointed.  They were cold and I could have made better for free at El Loco Fresh39FACF82-2323-4EC4-B1C8-6A5D32D932F9.thumb.jpeg.dd7968d47f6c1e427bf84ebdc5e35747.jpeg

I agree with your assessment of the Playmakers Nachos on Oasis. I had the same reaction when I ordered them. Your photo actually looks better than what I was served.

I also had their onion ring tower in September 2021 and on our June 10th, 2022 sailing. Again not good. Both times they were thin, overly crisp and greasy. I had them on the Wonder of the Seas and the Odyssey of the Seas in April. They were delish.

Enjoying your review.

That stinks! I think I would’ve sent them back to try again. I loved the nachos at Playmakers. I think they make the chips on board. I did get them with the pulled pork which made them too rich so next time I’ll get them without meat added. When they’re hot they’re delicious 😋

The turn over day last week (6/17/22) was a bit of a poop show.  They had a big problem getting the B2Bers cards to work and several of us had to wait in the theatre while they printed us new cards.  We continued to have card issues throughout the day and had to have our cards replaced 2-3 times each on Day 1.  We ended up having to wait almost 2 hours that evening to get into our cabin because either the cards failed or the door lock had an issue, we were not really able to get an answer on what the final cause was.

Throughout the week we had a couple challenges that we have never really experienced before. For some reason, we kept getting calls that there was no credit card tied to our account even though I gave it at check in on the B2b day. I assume the issue was tied to the card problems on Day 1.  I checked the app and sure enough it said we were both cash.  I went to guest services again and they could not figure out what was going on as they could see my card attached.  I continued to get a few calls over the next day or so until they eventually fixed whatever the issue was.

The most annoying thing was tied to the laundry.  We sent laundry away early in the week and got it free as normal.  We sent our second bag later in the week and they charged us $24.99.  Guest services tried to tell my husband that D+ only qualify for $10 off and that "it is what it is" and we should not have gotten the bag free earlier in the week so he should consider himself lucky.  He pointed out that we have gotten at least 1 free bag of laundry each week since boarding on the 5th and on just about every cruise since being D+, so that must be alot of luck.  He gave up and came to find me.  I immediately looked at the pic I had taken of the D+ letter we got in the cabin at boarding to make sure the coupons had not changed and it still listed the free bag.  Sure enough it was.  I went to guest services and spoke to the person working the line.  He took my cabin number, saw I was D+, said we were right and he would fix it.  The next morning it was still not fixed so Paul went down again.  The rep I had spoken to did not do anything to clear the charge.  Guest Services again tried to tell Paul again that we do not qualify for the free bag.  He eventually spoke to someone who knew the D+ benefits and they fixed it.  In the end it was about 24 hours from his first trip to the desk to when it was finally resolved.  Annoying but glad it was finally resolved.  🙂

Suggestion, should you have any issues with D+ benefits, laundry, etc or even problems with seapass I have always found the concierge at Diamond Lounge to be very helpful in fixing problems.  Much easier than standing in line at guest services too!

Question about your CP balcony, Do you find it to be very hot?

Captain just came over the speakers - there was a medical emergency over night and we had to divert to Port Everglades for the passenger to be disembarked. I was in bed by midnight so had not even noticed.

The great news is that the passenger is now stable.  Not so great news for those that had plans in Nassau is we will not be arriving today until 3:45PM and will be departing at 8:45PM.  All shore excursions have been cancelled.  There is no need for anyone to visit guest services and they will be automatically credited.  I did not catch if it would be a refund to credit card or as OBC.

It sucks for those that booked via a 3rd party, but I guess that it is the risk of doing so.

Hopefully the passenger has a full recovery soon.

When we got them they were cold.  I asked the server if they were supposed to be and she said yes so we did not bother to send them back and just chalked it up to a $7.50 lesson learned. We have had them on Odyssey and Oasis before and I do not remember them being this blah. We have had them with the pulled pork as well as just preferred the plain too.

Thanks for the tip.  We did go to him when we were missing our D+ amenities a few times and by the time we got back to our cabin later that evening, the missing amenities were there.  We never thought to go to them about the laundry charge but we definitely should have.  He has been great.

If we are hanging out outside, we normally stick to deck 16 of the solarium where they have the little couches so you do not get must of a cross breeze.  I do not find the CP balcony any hotter than there but if it is a REALLY hot day and you are in port, I think it would be a scorcher.

I have had the tower on Oasis and Odyssey.  I remember loving them on one of the ships and them just being ok on the other.  One was basically like the ones you can buy frozen at the grocery store and fry at home.  The other tastes hand battered and fresh.  My problem is that I cannot remember which was which!  I think I have to go back through my previous live posts and figure it out.  Not that they could not have changed them by now anyway...

We moved to a Central Park Balcony on the 17th.  I had heard about the extended balconies on some of them and knew 11229 was one of them so I snapped it up when I saw it was available at booking.  I was then able to get it for the 2th too.  This balcony is huge as part of it is in front of what I assume is a storage space.  There is a bit of noise from the area in the morning – I assume it is where they either store the cleaning trolleys or is where the luggage elevators are.  Either way it does not matter to us as we have to get up early to work anyway so it did not prevent us from sleeping.  We are on deck 11 and can hear the music from the pool deck which can be annoying when on a conference call but is not too bad most times.

We have the same cabin this week as well as the one next to it so we should have an even bigger balcony if our cabin steward is able to open the divider to us.  The cabins are not adjoining once again but we will take the double pts (actually 4x) and probably use it for our suitcases 😊

The part with the 2 loungers is the extra space.  I think it is actually bigger than the "regular" part.

I have 10229 Booked for August. Do all the double Balconies(229) have the 2 lounge chairs? Also, how is privacy? I booked it knowing everyone could see you, but am used to OV balcony. I'm worried that Breakfast on the balcony will be a bust!!LOL

What a great review! We are sailing on Oasis on the 16 Oct, both my wife and I have done quite a few cruises and this is our free one this year as my wife is prime. We had promised our eldest granddaughter (6) she could come with us last year (2 UK cruises after lockdown on Anthem) but she  could not come away in the end. Her mum our eldest daughter is also coming along as her husband said why don't you go as well. She did not hesitate so all booked on and cannot wait. We fly in to JFK on the Saturday and will stay in NY that night before travelling over to NJ for the cruise on the Sunday. Will keep following you as you work and play on Oasis. Have fun.

We are on this cruise as well!  I have been searching for Facebook groups or other groups to join!  Have you found any?  Stephanie on Long Island

I have not seen any on CC or facebook, My DW and I are really excited as our eldest daughter and Granddaughter have never been on a cruise so want to show them as much as possible. We are still working on the transfers and hotel the night before but am sure it will all work out.  Would be great not to have to fly before and after the cruise but it will be worth it.

I just discovered it on my last cruise. Loved it! I had them make it with coconut rum instead of vodka and liked it even more😊

WOW, That's both awesome and crazy. If they weren't running out of "TOTES" before,

they are now. 🤪

Spent a mostly lovely afternoon at Coco Cay. We were the only ship in again today and did not have an issue finding chairs which was great.

When we got there Paul went to Chill Beach to find us some chairs.  I went and grabbed some towels and on the way back made the mistake of stopping at the buffet to grab us some sandwiches to each at our loungers.

I forgot to cover the food with a second plate and as soon as I left the buffet area a not so friendly neighborhood seagull came to get a litttle sample, then his friend, then the whole neighborhood showed up and I was under attack. I felt like Tippi Hedron from The Birds.  😂 Plate, key and towels went flying.  I waited for the carnage to be over and then collected my seapass and towels.  The little bastards not only got two cheesesteak sandwiches, I think they even took off with the plate because it was not left behind.

Another one tried to grab my aviators off my table later in the afternoon.

Have I mentioned I hate birds?

On a positive note, Coco Cay does have some lovely flowering bushes.

Well there is a first time for everything.  I was locked in a stall in the bathroom by the casino for a few minutes just now. 🤣😂🤣

I closed the door behind me and locked it, not noticing there was no inside handle.  Tried to to use a Barrette to see if I could get it opened but to no avail.  Asked for help in the washroom but no one answered. Had to text Paul and he sent someone in to rescue me.

There was no sign of the handle anywhere and no sign on the door.

What’s next??!! 😂😂
