Logoladytcs Posted February 27, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 27, 2006 Morning all A really good friend of mine is leaving on her cruise in April and it's her birthday at the same time - her family is traveling with her and they're doing the birthday cake thing - I wanted to get her something special and was hoping you all might have some unique ideas. Hflors Posted February 27, 2006 #2 Share Posted February 27, 2006 If you know the cruise line she is traveling on see if they have gifts that could be delivered to her stateroom. Maybe decorations with "Happy Birthday" or how about a bottle of wine and some chocolate covered cherries? I think they would be very nice! Krazy Kruizers Posted February 27, 2006 #3 Share Posted February 27, 2006 Most of the cruise lines do have an area on their web sites where you can order special items. But you need to know the person's sailing date, confirmation number and cabin number. You might want to go to your friend's TA and arrange for a bottle of champagne or chocolate covered strawberries. KateQ22003 Posted February 27, 2006 #6 Share Posted February 27, 2006 Double ditto the above posts! For Christmas my brother and his wife gave us shipboard credit for our upcoming cruise - I was thrilled! My sister-in-law only knew the date we were sailing and the cruise line, and Holland America was able to find our reservation for her. She said that the customer service folks at Holland were terrific. Kathy
Bookish Angel Posted February 27, 2006 #7 Share Posted February 27, 2006 Lets the person get better acquainted with the history and culture of the area to be visited and to decide on what can be seen and done in each port.
mr green Posted February 27, 2006 #8 Share Posted February 27, 2006 Some years ago my son gave me a copy o Berlitz 1999, Guide to Cruising. While I do not agree with all of what Douglas Ward says, [ who cares if you have fish knives or not], it is still a useful reference book to have. john
Frogs Posted February 28, 2006 #9 Share Posted February 28, 2006 For my first cruise (which was the week before Christmas) my sister-in-law got me a gift certificate for the spa. It allowed me to get my pedicure and masage! I really appreciated it! Blessings!
