Chef Table?

We attended two of these before they stopped so I will answer the question about what they were. There are a couple restaurants in our area that offer these, a table for 2-4 in the kitchen, multiple courses, wine and visits by the chef and pricey. NCL played off this. Both times it was a special event in a separate room with 10-12 participants. Multiple high level courses paired with drinks. A lot of wait staff and visits by kitchen staff. Premium price of course.

Nope. NCL discontinued the Chef's Table because there was a lack of interest and an inability to generate enough revenue for the space it took.

Looks wonderful. We did one in Carnival years ago and really enjoyed it. Looking forward to one we will be doing on a Royal Caribbean Christmas cruise next year.

We did one on the Royal this year too. It was not as good as the Princess one IMO, but it was a little cheaper. This was our Menu:;

Yes. On Princess it felt so wasteful. There were Nine courses! I could have split it with someone but that is not how they serve it.

We did one on the Sky over a decade ago, and....you're not missing much. We're pretty big foodies, have eaten at multiple Michelin star restaurants around the world, etc., and felt like Chef's Table wasn't much to write home about. I think on our most recent NCL cruises, a meal in Ocean Blue or Cagney's would be very comparable.

 

(Fwiw, we did a cruise on Virgin earlier this year, and their Test Kitchen concept is what Chef's Tables on the other lines aspires to be...it was exquisite. What NCL was offering wasn't this. Good riddance.)

I'm a fat cow (I think I've mentioned this before) and was so afraid of not having enough food at meals when I was on NCL. Then, upon being on the ship, I could only stomach two meals a day. So much food is offered at meals - now if I'm paying extra for Chef's Table, I'd be starving myself the entire day (really more like letting my digestive system catch up from the day before) and expect an absolute feast! 

 

Alas...I don't enjoy moderation as told by my large waistline.

well, if you love to eat that much, i suggest you gorge yourself at breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets, keep ordering pizza's and go to moderno a few times.  between the salad bar and the choices of meats,you should be able to eat your fill.   also, i understand that o'sheehans is open 24/7, and in the mdr you can also order and eat till you drop.

 

all that being said, however, arent you concerned about your health?  large waistlines are definitely not good for your heart.

We had the same menu on the Oasis OTS May 8 2022 sailing. Very good!

Oh I do care....it's that whole will power thing. I did blame it on a stressful job, but now that I don't have that job I'm not sure what to blame it on. 😉

 

Just eating normal meals on the ship made me full! That was part of the point of my post. I think the Chef's Table would be plenty of food (someone seemed concerned about not having enough). I eat a lot, but on NCL one never, ever goes hungry! We ordered room service once outside of meal time. Otherwise, I ate three, then two meals a day. Two meals a day started on day 2 of the cruise. The portion sizes are great and I'm sure Chef's Table is the same way based on those photos.
