Meet and Greets/Slot pulls/ Cabin Crawls etc.

Has anyone experienced a Meet and Greet with Officers; a slot pull with the blessings of the casino staff (i.e. where they might throw in a bottle or two of bubbly for the big "winners", or a cabin crawl lately? When we sailed early April none of the above were allowed. I don't think dinners with officers or behind the scenes tours are happening yet, so was wondering about the above.

We've had the M&G with officers on our last three cruises (Oct 2021, Dec 2021, and May 2022) -- wasn't much interest in the other events, so nothing was organized.  I know I wouldn't want people in my cabin for a crawl in these post-shutdown times.  Dinner with officers was still not happening, but the meet & greets certainly are.

I was thinking the same thing about the cabin crawl.

A handful of masked senior officers (none from the bridge) attended the Joy's M&G in early May, but none at the Getaway sailing in late March.  Casino host/manager didn't have any issues approving onboard request to do a slot pull, even though the social media group had one planned later that day.  We're the first group on the sailing that, at ship's management discretion, resumed Dine with the Officers on the Getaway - it has since been cancelled with the surging cases in April.  AFAIK, there hasn't been a Dine with the Officers this year.  No behind the scene tours on either ship at all, for health & safety reasons.

Personally, I am not in favor of oranizing "strangers" to go into other CC'ers private space, except in very small group on a pre-arranged basis, and would help if done by appointment and masked up ... the latest / recent subvariants are highly contagious & easily spread, unknowingly despite universal precautions and infection control measures ... way too many sticky fingers, sweating hands and the occasional sneezing & coughing to make the cabin crawl a safe and smart gathering these days.

We're currently on the Star, and there was an organized M&G on this cruise, but there were no officers present.  We're Sapphire and didn't inquire about the BTS tour because we've already gone on two before now (but I suspect it didn't happen).

Jewel cruise to Alaska end of May.  NCL arranged the Cruise Critic meet and greet with the officers.  My husband and I were the only ones to attend.  Practically all the senior officers were there and offered any help we might need for the duration of the cruise.

Wow. I thought that sounded a little strange so I took the liberty of looking at your roll call.

IMHO, there was little to no interaction between the CC members...only 19 total posts before your cruise. I saw no posts where someone even mentioned a meet & greet...nobody asked for sign ups or volunteered to coordinate the event. There wasn't even a post mentioning the time/place that the Cruise Critic members in your roll call were planning to meet and greet each other. Based on what I saw on the roll call, its surprising that you even showed up.

A good M&G stems from planning and a group that interacts with each other in a way that drives attendance. Hopefully, it will work out better for you on future cruises.
