Check those rates often before final payment!

We have a  poker cruise booked for Dec. via Casinos at Sea that DH had won in a poker tourney in 2019.

Originally we were quoted at $400 each to upgrade to a balcony.

I noticed that balconies were now CHEAPER than both INT & OV!

Called up & knocked $600 off our price! (could have had OV for another $200 less; only ONE OV left on the ship)

Seems most people are booking INT/OV for their free cruises.

Yep.  My next cruise dropped $300 per person in the days leading up to final payment.  😎

Of course, now it's dropped another $450 per person which I can't get back. 😡

The next two upgrades are now cheaper than the balcony I booked, so now I'm watching aft balcony prices.  They're currently about $100 more per person than my current booking.

A few years back my PCC called me to let me know that our cruise (six months out) price dropped by a good amount and he was re-booking it for us.  He just didn't want me to be surprised by the sudden confirmation e-mail.

He was a great PCC who sadly is no longer with NCL.

If this happens will Ncl adjust the price or do you have to cance and rebook?

As long as it's before the final payment they'll adjust the price, which is the same thing as cancelling and rebooking, really.  Just keep in mind that the promotions in effect when originally booked may have changed, so that needs to be taken into consideration, i.e. second guest flies free might have been with the original booking but no longer available with the new fare.

Looked at the rates for our Med cruise last summer...QUITE a bit less!

Called & was concerned they would have to cancel & rebook as air is up about 50%.

(I am not 100% locked in on air yet as I'd prefer to book our own. But $3800/5 RT from US to Rome will be hard to beat. I will pay a bit more to do it myself but those dates aren't out yet.)

NOPE--saved us nearly $2K!

We lost 2 specialty meals/4 of us (NOT a big deal) & internet went from 250 to 120 min/cabin.

No big deal. I'll pay $200 for unlimited plan we can share if necessary.

I appreciate saving $3300 in 2 days just by doing my research!

oh we did, checked if not daily, at least every week. We booked an ocean view cabin and then Balcony became cheaper. We received an upgrade to a balcony and paid less than what would have, originally. Now, that we made the final payment, our agency is offering free daily gratuities for our cruise LOL oh well.

Final payment date for us was this past Friday, but when the Memorial Day sale popped up, I priced out our cruise, saw the price had gone down over $600, and called NCL. Because I was outside the cancellation period, they matched the lower price while still keeping the same cabin and all the same perks (those hadn't changed). They also told me that if I paid another $250 down, they'd match it, basically giving me another $250 for free, sorta. If I cancel, they hold my $250 plus the $250 match for two years to use on a future cruise. The $600+ savings and the $250 match saved me nearly $900 with a twenty-minute phone call.

Now that the final payment date has passed, the prices have dropped a bit, but we are in a "mini suite", meaning our only desired upgrade would be into the Haven, which more than doubles the cost of the cruise. I am hoping for Upgrade Advantage (which e-mail doesn't seem to have been sent out yet) but am not holding my breath.

For all past NCL cruises, I never received an email, but it always showed up on the NCL website.  For my next cruise, I received an email but it hasn't shown up on the website.  Who knows how this stuff works?

I also have never received the email, but had the banner on the website.  This time for our September cruise, I have no banner but did receive the email.

I'm on Bliss in December going through the Panama canal & the price drops have been fantastic.  Price has dropped $2,888 from when I booked a balcony cabin in April.  There were no changes to the promotions and, I changed cabins to a higher deck at a slightly higher cost.

I've got a little more than a month before final payment and I don't expect any more price drops but I'll keep checking.

Do they still honor a price drop if you paid in full already (prior to final payment date)? Maybe give you the difference as an onboard credit?

Or are you out of luck in this scenario?

They will refund the difference if you ask, as long as it is before the final due date.
