Are Kettles available on european cruises?

no... generally for the same reason yours was confiscated: fire and electrical hazard. 

 

tea and coffee are widely available throughout the ship and also via room service, if you must have it first thing in the morning.

Royal Caribbean provide them as standard on all European cruises , just done  Anthem and a kettle etc was in the cabin.

 

we like a coffee when we wake up  , that could be 6.30 am or    9am so room service is not an option.
