Rare LACruiser88 Posted July 30, 2022 #2 Share Posted July 30, 2022 From Princess web site: As provided in the Passage Contract, guests agree not to bring alcoholic beverages of any kind on board for consumption, except one bottle of wine or champagne per adult of drinking age (no larger than 750 ml) per voyage, which will not be subject to a corkage fee if consumed in the stateroom. Additional wine or champagne bottles are welcome, but will incur a $20 corkage fee each, irrespective of where they are intended to be consumed. Liquor, spirits or beers are not permitted. Please remember that luggage will be scanned and alcohol outside of our policy will be removed and discarded.* Alcoholic beverages that are purchased duty free from The Shops of Princess, or at ports of call, will be collected for safekeeping and delivered to the guest's stateroom on the last day of the cruise. A member of the ship's staff will be at the gangway to assist guests with the storage of their shoreside alcoholic purchases while The Shops of Princess staff will assist guests with shipboard alcoholic purchases. *Princess is not responsible for any alcoholic beverages removed and discarded by shoreside security staff. Such items are not eligible for monetary refund or replacement. Guests found with prohibited items, including alcohol outside of the policy, may need to collect their luggage at a security checkpoint on board. Yes you can trade the mini bar setup for 1 bottle of wine. You look at the wine list and there is a cap on the value of the wine. Do not know the cap presently. No corkage fee on this bottle, because it’s from their stock and yes you can take it to the DR. Edited July 30, 2022 by PacnGoNow

The OP was asking about the bottle of wine received as a trade for their mini bar setup.

If I remember correctly from the Sky Princess, in February 2020 you could select a bottle up to U.S. $40 from the Princess list.

janroatan Posted July 31, 2022 #8 Share Posted July 31, 2022 Is this option only for elite/ full suite passengers?
Rare loriva Posted July 31, 2022 #9 Share Posted July 31, 2022 1 hour ago, janroatan said: Is this option only for elite/ full suite passengers? Only those in full suites or elites receive a complementary mini-bar set-up. Mini-bars in other cabins, for non-elite-level passengers are either empty or have items you need to pay for. So, yes, the option is only for elites and/or full suite passengers. The only exception I can think of--but have never heard of--is whether a travel agent could purchase a mini-bar set-up for a client. Anyone know if this ever happens? We traded our mini-bar for a bottle of Zolo Malbec. So, if someone has a current price list, they could advise the price. That's no guarantee Princess has raised the cap if the price of that wine increased, but maybe it would give us a sense.

I did see a list recently and those prices all went up that I could see. So, it would make a big difference to try to find something $40 or under. For me anyway. 🍷
