I didn't realize that we wouldn't be able to get into the FLL terminal until 3 hours before our flight!  UGH! Let me ask you this: our flight options back to Mpls are either 10:30 a.m. or 4:10 p.m.  If I book the 10:30 a.m. flight, do you think I'll get to the airport from the ship in time?

Yes, but that provided there are no hiccups when arriving in Ft Lauderdale.

Personally I would choose 4:10 PM and be safe.

Check with your Airline -they are the ones that determine what time you can check in your bag. Sometimes it’s four hours sometimes it’s three hours prior to your flight. But yes you will be able to get into the terminal ,you just won’t be able to go beyond the checked bag area ( I.e. security check point)where more than likely there is no place to sit or very minimal places to sit while you wait to check in your bag.  Maybe baggage claim area has chairs to wait while bag check in opens for your flight?

If you have a carry-on only another story, but not many cruise passengers  probably have carry-on only ??

No one can predict better flight time except you.  If everything goes as planned and you do walk off probably can make the 10:30 AM flight but you never know if the ship gets in late into Fort Lauderdale or there’s a issue with clearing the ship etc. etc.

Understand your plight with the 410pm  flight is quite late and what the heck do you do with all the time on your hands. I would rent a car or get a day use room  or go on a Princess tour that drops off at the airport if feasible.

By law you are not permitted to remain on board in Fort Lauderdale. Every passenger must leave the ship. If even one passenger remains on board that passenger must be located and be escorted off the ship. Once disembarked passengers that are not on b2bs not permitted back on board. Those on b2bs go through immigration and once all passengers are off the b2b passengers are permitted back on board.

This!

Cheers
