Now Princess Cruises Changes Covid Guidelines

Starting Sept. 6, vaccinated guests sailing on voyages of less than 16 days will no longer have to test before boarding and only need to upload proof of vaccination while getting OceanReady. Unvaccinated guests, or those who do not provide proof of vaccination, on those itineraries will self-test within three days of sailing and upload proof of a negative test before boarding.

These new guidelines apply to itineraries from all departure ports except where government regulations and protocols may vary like Canada, Greece and Australia.

What’s the matter RCI and Celebrity? What are they waiting for? Last to change ?

looking at a Princess cruise now.

We just returned from a 12 day Princess cruise - our second - also our LAST.  We are back with Celebrity!

I assume/hope RCI is monitoring the industry (and this board) and will follow suit.  Please, okay, "pretty please" drop the pre-cruise testing mandate!  I'm okay with vaccinations but the testing just makes no sense at all.

They'll change, it's like a high school dance, everybody was waiting to take the first step. Celebrity/Royal took the first step, but now that Princess has gone for 7-night cruises, Celebrity will follow suit, since Royal will have to compete with Carnival. I also like the idea of simply accepting a home test for the unvaxxed, especially with Walgreen's no longer offering free tests and the online tests such a hassle, with mistakes, stress, cost, and test expiration dates. If people are scared, vulnerable, then they can continue to mask and distance, but it's really long past time to keep testing kids at the pier or requiring expensive PCR tests. It will also be nice to get on the ship finally with just the app and passports, instead of pulling out papers.
