Carrying on wine and champagne

You are only charged a corkage if you DO NOT have a beverage package and you open it in a restaurant. If you drink in room, NO corkage. The bottle size is a 750 but you could inquire about just bringing one magnum. As for the corkage fee, if I am bringing wine onboard, it's usually a $50-500 dollar bottle from home that I would have to pay double or more to buy, so the corkage is very much worth it.

No fee either if you bring a glass of wine from your room into the dining room.

750 ML Bottles No corkage fee in room even without drink package

 

We usually pour a REALLY large glass in our room and bring the glass to dinner. Stateroom attendant brings us clean glasses. Or champaigne glasses and ice for a sail away toast on our balcony.

No Corkage fee if you have the wine in your SR….thats kind of why they allow us to bring it, to enjoy ourselves or with friends over. At least thats what we do.

 

The bottle size is not called out, but many previous threads have stated it is the standard 750ml bottles. 

 

No idea if anyone has done any calculations. The reason to bring it, is either you enjoy a specific wine and thats what you want; you want to celebrate, and you don’t worry about corkage fees which may not apply….see the previous discussions.

 

We just have a bottle or so in the SR for personal use in the SR. I buy wines in some ports and expect to take it home. As to having in the SR, Ive brought 2 onboard and we never got to them! So you never know.

Correct. It changed to 2 per person. And if you have a drinks package there is no longer a corkage fee if you want it served in a dining venue.

I have decided not to add any drinks package for my next cruise.

If I bring some champagne and pay the corkage fee, will it be available in any restaurant/bar or just the main dining room?

I also pour a larger glass of wine in my SR and bring to MDR. A few years ago I had a bottle in dining room and man at my table asked if he could have a glass just to try it. 😆

My DW just booked a free casino cruise for her and her sister so between the 4 bottles they bring on board, elite happy hour drinks and some free cocktails in the casino, they should be OK!

No, you cant bring beer or liquor aboard. Just the wine being discussed. And you can bring bottled water and sodas if you wish.
