Shadwick Posted August 17, 2022 #1 Share Posted August 17, 2022 Do they have wheelchair assistance to board. My husband can get around, but that walk onto the ship is just too much. We've been to other ports where there is wheelchair assistant porters to help with embarkation. Does the NCL cruise port in Los Angeles have this service or do we need to provide our own wheelchair? He doesn't need it for everything, just for long standing and walking. I did try searching but it didn't seem to filter anything out. Thank you, Diana
CruiserBruce Posted August 17, 2022 #2 Share Posted August 17, 2022 Check with NCL. The cruise lines usually provide staff, either land based, or ship based, to do things like assist people abroad where needed. If you aren't supplying your own wheelchair, you probably need to request one be waiting for you.
93yearsyoung Posted August 17, 2022 #3 Share Posted August 17, 2022 Every cruise we've been on in the last four years I've needed a wheelchair to get on board, mostly because of the ridiculous swithbacks to get onboard that are not really necessary. The wheelchair assistants have been outside the check in area and stayed with me until we were on the ship.
Guindalf Posted August 18, 2022 #4 Share Posted August 18, 2022 I may need this service. I have a scooter booked but it won’t be there for embarkation, but delivered to our stateroom. What is the usual tip for wheelchair assistance?
