I took the empanadas back to the hotel. I walked through Times Square to get there figuring that’s the most populated and safest place to walk after midnight.

I went with the corn tortillas. One beef and one cheese. They were good. I think I liked beef better.

I'm sitting here with my freshly fallen out fake tooth on the desk (guess where I'll be Monday morning, but at least it didn't happen on our upcoming NY/Canada cruise in a few weeks), and looking at that menu. I really want, right now, 1 of the Cubans and 1 of the Jerk Chicken empanadas. That beef one does look good.

Have fond memories of Sardi's.  In the early 80's when dh and I were first dating we went to our first Broadway show and parked in a garage across from Sardi's.  Went to pick up my car, and the car wouldn't start.  It was pouring rain and freezing, and I was crying hysterically because we were "stranded."  Went across to Sardi's to warm up and decide what to do.  A man came over to us and asked what was wrong.  I (still crying) told him, and he made a call, and a limo pulled up to take us back to Long Island.  Who was this (in my eyes) hero?  Mr. Vincent Sardi Jr. himself!

I got my required 7 hours of sleep this time. Even though the room alarm clock went off after 5 hours. Thanks previous guest. It kind of worked out because there are no usb Ports in this room and I only brought one wall adapter so I have to pick between my mobile charger or my phone. I picked my mobie charger. Then when that alarm woke me up at 6am, I swapped it for my phone so they’re both charged.

The owner of your hotel is Dick Chiu, who lives in Paris. We had to beg him for simple updates to the guest rooms. USB ports was one of the most frequent requests we made. Most hotels renovate every 7 years, he made us wait 9 - 10 years. This is why the NY Warwick is a 3 star property and not a 4.

Greg, if you haven't already you may want to look at the murals in the restaurant, now called Murals on 54, just off the lobby. That space originally was the Sir Walter Raleigh Room where orchestras played live for radio shows. If they are still there, the classic murals are of Sir Walter Raleigh discovering the new world.
