Chefs Table/Extra Dining on board pricing.

Recommended Posts

Do they still offer deals for the chefs table on board if it’s not booked up?

I’ll be sailing oasis in a couple weeks - chefs table is currently showing $86 and has availability for every night of the cruise. If I recall - they used to offer deals if you booked it last minute on board. Is that still the case?

Curious what people have seen! It’s been awhile.

Thanks

Thanks for the quick responses - one other question - does the menu for it vary at all from ship to ship?

My friend is joining us on this cruise on oasis  and already has it booked for Mariner and doesn’t necessarily want the same menu.

That is a snag-able price - it is also a lot of fun - you likely will NOT regret it.

I have booked several CT at lower prices. I utilize my Roll Call and find others who are interested and then bring that list onboard and begin negotiating a better price. Last cruise I think I got $30-35 off regular price. I’m boarding the Voyager in 2 weeks with 83 people that are interested. I do all their work for them and they usually appreciate it and give us a break. Hope it works well for us this time.

The first time we did it, we felt we got our money’s worth, paying full price. But we had someone at our table who said they got a call before their scheduled Chops reservation for the same price. I guess it’s all how desperate they are to fill the CT. Good luck and enjoy.

We have snagged the Chef's table twice for about 1/2 price.  The first time, we were asked by a staff member while in the Windjammer shortly after boarding.  They were having a difficult time filling the first night's table.  This was just for my husband and I.  The second time, we were traveling with a  party of 11--our immediate family and two others.  We bought the whole table and were also granted off the 1/2 off pricing.

Someone once told me that there are sometimes offers to be had while in the Diamond Lounge or Suite Lounge, etc.  when staff are trying to fill the tables.  We do not spend much time in the DL, so I can't say if this is true.

Having said all of this, we have cruised 5 times since last August, and have not been offered a discount since 2019.  LOL!

Good luck!

YMMV.  On Enchantment in March, I had already booked Chef's table before i boarded.  While at lunch in the MDR on the first day, they had an offer of Chef's Table and Chops for 110/person.  With Chef's Table sitting at 89.99/person and Chops was I think 44.99/person, that was a savings of $25.00 over both of them.  (not including gratuities, add 18% on top of that).  However, when i went was on Brilliance in December, I heard they were trying to charge 130/person for Chef's Table by itself.  I did not see it personally, but someone came up to me and asked me how I liked it, as i went to it the evening before, and she told me they wanted 130.

Is the Chef Table menu the same on every ship?

More or less these days.  I've been going to Chef's table since i found out about it in 2012.  I've only been documenting them since 2015, but starting 2017, Chef's Table has had a mostly identical menu across different ships.  The only real change is the dessert.  It used to be this chocolate bar, but they replaced it with the World from Wonderland.

The wine pairings varied a little, but has more or less stayed the same as well.

When i say more or less.  The menu item is the same, but they may add their own flair to it.  For example, I noticed that the Bronzino had olives on the Mariner but it never had it before.  If you're interested, this is my live thread.  HOpefully it goes directly to page 13, but if not, go to page 13, I have my pictures of Chef's Table.  I also linked my other live threads on page 1, and they all have chef's table pictures in there somewhere.

To surprise my DH, I purchased Chef's Table for our anniversary in October on Mariner. For 2 of us, I prepaid $159.98 + $28.78 gratuities = $188.76 total. Especially wanted the first night, as that is our anniversary, so made the reservation. We are on board the week before as well, so I intend to ask the DL concierge if we can get the BOGO for that night, since it will be on Day 1 of the cruise; then, maybe we can go to Chops for our freebie!🤞 Cheers!
