Upper Suite Benefits

Food in Craft Social would not be included in your unlimited specialty dining.  I don't think that regular room service would comp the food, either.  We ordered through our butler (upper level suite).

But, is food in Craft Social covered if you're in an upper level suite?

Regular room service is complimentary in all Retreat cabins.

Yes, you are correct.  I was specifically referring to Craft Social's menu.🙃

Ah, understood. When we've been in a RS, we've ordered from Sushi on Five via the butler. None of the other specialties do take-out, so I doubt one could order those via the butler. We never felt the need to try. I guess Craft Social falls somewhere in between. I suppose one's butler would be willing to bring food from there to one's cabin and that the cost would be based on that particular butler's ingenuity.

Tom

Define "upper level" -

In an IC, I've had Le Voyage delivered to my stateroom. At sunset. Course by course. With a bottle of superb champagne.

No questions asked.

That stateroom is worth every penny.

We’re in a PH on the Beyond.  I couldn’t find any details regarding Craft Social in relation to upper suite benefits.  It’s not a big issue for us, it’s just my husband appreciates good bar food and it seemed non-sensical that our suite included the high cost of all specialty restaurants, but we can’t get chicken wings at the bar covered in the cost of the cabin.

On a separate note @Tom-n-Cheryl, you likely won’t remember me, but you helped me 15 years ago on these boards!  With your advice we were able to snag the “secret” suite on Carnival Victory.  It created a problem that my poor husband is still paying for!  Thank you and all the other lovely contributors to these boards who provide a wealth of information.

Why not ask your butler regarding details for Craft Social?  Having cruised 32 cruises with Celebrity, we  have found that the type of suite, number of cruises with X and the cruiser's personality can make for a wide range of "benefits". (DH is so calm and patient and DW is a wired witch 🤣)

True, and if you are in an upper suite your butler can provide you with more than the suite room service menu offers.

On the M class I totally understand the price difference. The PH deck is simply stunning. There are places to sit in the sun and the shade, ample outside dining space and absolutely ideal for entertaining. Whilst there is nothing wrong with the M Class RS there is a big difference in what you get for your $. Just such a pity on M class there are so few dining options…

I have never understood why they didn’t make more of the square footage in the S class PH. Don’t get me wrong, it is beautiful but it is hard to justify the pricing difference between the PH and the RS. I don’t think they make the most of the space. We were in the Silhouette PH post refit and the dining space is massive. If they turned the table side on (as I think it used to be before they got rid of the piano) you could fit two comfortable chairs with footstools and a side table looking out to sea. Instead there is a rather odd storage type unit…We do enjoy the space but can only justify it when travelling as four where the second full bathroom is a necessity….

No, it isn’t.

We like the PH in the M class because of the butler's Pantry, along with the balcony.  We use the micro wave and full sized fridge/freezer a lot.  There is no such pantry in the PH on the S class,. Instead there is a "bar set up" in the dining area.

What an excellent opportunity for me to ask this etiquette question! Of course a full size fridge is great for holding more bottles of vodka or what have you... Not to mention "real" cooling vs the piddly small fridges that are basically closets. But the microwave? How would you use it? We have always been told that one doesn't take leftovers from the restaurants on board--nor from the buffet. Certainly one cannot bring food from shoreside. Even our butler always insists on removing the remains after serving us dinner in our suite. So no leftovers/extra food in your suite... Reheating a cappuccino, maybe?

Used it for heating water for tea (we bring our favorite with us) before we realized kettles were available.  Never would have known if not for some UK members here!

Despite being in the PH and having butlers we do occasionally still head for the buffet and bring items back. Nice to pick up some English bacon and put it between a nice slice of French stick, quick microwave and enjoy on the beautiful balcony!

Another thing we have done is pop our packet pop corn in it! We had pop corn sachets with us as we were self catering pre and post cruise, rather than phone the butler and ask if he could round some up for us we simply did our own to enjoy with a film…

Friends of ours have difficulty sleeping and get the butler to leave them a jug of hot chocolate in the fridge they can then warm up if wanted during the night.

We never miss having a microwave in S class (so not really important to us) but as a naturally tidy person I did like taking used glasses, dishes etc into the pantry in the evening on M class. On S class I could only side to the wet bar area…

Wet bar in RS on S class as well, along with a proper little wine fridge in addition to the regular one.
