Shuttle into Ketchikan

It’s still a little bit of a walk to downtown as you have to go pass the other terminals

Still walking … there is a complimentary shuttle to Walmart which is close to ward cove… it’s the second smallest Walmart in USA.  There is also a Safeway in town with Starbucks and A&P Local Market aka always pricey to the locals

It is way too early for seafood feast crab salmon because of the arrival time so I did not book any excursion… I have done them in the past when the arrival time is closer to lunch time …

I love walking through Creek Street… lots of cute shops to browse … unfortunately there is nothing I want to buy in Alaska thanks to Amazon prime… why carry it home when I can order it and be home when I get back

Making my way towards the salmon ladder … very interesting to see but you have a better view at Sitka… Sitka is where you want to do the while life exploration …

@BennyBrun...surprised to see you anchored so far from town, were there several ships in port today?

 

We docked right in town, but that was several years ago on Carnival.  

Looks like another great exploring day for you despite not being in port very long.

Thank you.  Yes SPA pass is available onboard but during port days and there are specials … I don’t have any paper work because I threw them out but if you attend the spa raffle on the first day there is always a special for port days or off peak hours and it’s usually pretty decent.  I am not a fan of Mandara Spa and also spa on the ship because of the upsell during and after treatment… I get my SPA in on land 😆 I do like the thermal pass because it is a nice place to getaway from the Caribbean Cruise crowd!

Thank you! Did you do the thermal suite on the Bliss? Do they offer a day pass to the thermal suite to purchase onboard?

I understand NCL owns Ward Cove so now they only dock there.

It’s the NCL dock so you have no choice … carnival and Holland America and the other lines will dock downtown… it is what it is … if you are on the other lines you are safe from this far and aqua place lol … I do think that shuttle should run a little bit longer but other than that it is all good!

I did not do the thermal suite I don’t know if they offer a day pass and I don’t want to go up and ask end up being guilt into buying something I will not use from the SPA 😂

If you follow the sign you can continue to walk toward the hatchery ( currently closed to the public) and the totem museum!  Of course see Salmon / alive or dead
