One platinum, one a newbie - how does that work?

I've been platinum for quite awhile, along with my husband.  He,however, passed away a few months ago, so I am taking a "newbie" with me, to introduce her to the world of cruising.  I'm thinking that only I will get the Platinum Perks, such as the brunch drink, and the  Casino $25 credit, etc.   Is that the case?

You are correct. If she's in the same cabin as you, you'll be able to check her in at the same time you check yourself in so you'll both have the same arrival time. If there's a Platinum party on your cruise, you'll be able to take her with you. If you have a port that requires a tender, you may both get priority if you choose to go early.

THIS, but OP as you mentioned specific perks like the $25 casino cash, brunch drink, laundry, water, free gift, etc. will only be applicable for you.  They get to share in "room" benefits because of you such as check in for boarding and also priority debarkation, and tenders, etc. but all others are specific just to you.

My your husband be there with you in spirit.

Thank you for the info.  I figured that was the case, but wanted to know for sure.  And as for my husband, we had quite a few cruises together - and we will have one more.  Next spring, we are taking him on our cruise to release his ashes into the Caribbean.  That has been his wish since we started cruising.

Question...I am Platinum and am in an ocean suite, but have two more cabins that are not in my name, but being paid for on my credit card.  Will they be able to do priority boarding with me??

No. Sorry.

Since you are in a Suite you will "get" to board first (there is no priority boarding for Diamond or Platinum right now).  Everyone has to pick their arrival time and then they get a boarding zone based on that (the sooner your arrival time, the sooner you board).

You, as Platinum, would normally be able to pick your boarding time 2 days (16 days out) earlier then the other cabins (14 days out).  I have seen some comment that they were able to select boarding for ALL the people tied to their group, but they must have done so within the 14 day window not at the 16 day window.  Because I just did it myself this weekend.  16 days out I was ONLY able to select myself and my husband, the others in our group were greyed out and it would not let me select them.  So I stayed up until midnight 2 days later and right at midnight, went and checked them in.  We all have the same boarding time of 10-10:30, but they are zone A04 and we are zone A01 (so we will just board with them).

With A01 we normally would be the first ones on the ship after Suites and Weddings.  Since you have a Suite you will be on 1st, but others will not be able to board with you.  You will have to wait and get on with them, or just wait and board with them.  If you do what I did and do it right at midnight on day 14 - they shouldn't be far behind you anyhow.  For us from zone A01 to A04 is probably going to no more than 10-15 minuets difference.

I have two cabins booked for November, one for DH and myself (platinum) and one for my two not yet platinum DDs (20 & 22).  So we could board together, my DH is booked in a cabin with a DD and I am with the other DD.  After we board we will adjust our cabin assignments.

May he Rest in Peace.  I am cruising with my two daughters (and kids) but my son will not be with us.  We will have to go on another one with him included so we can do they same with my husband's ashes.  He also loved cruising.  (Could i leave some in the casino) LOL

Yes, one platinum in each room covers the requirement

Wondered the same about my cabin mate…also, for HMC do platinum members get priority ferry off? How does this work, are tickets given?

Each Plat or Diamond can take a certain number of guests.  Yes to priority tendering at HMC.

Used to be you could go to Guest Services anytime and they'd send you to the forward elevators where there was a dedicated employee with an elevator key to take or send you down directly to the deck where they were tendering.  Last couple of cruises they only did priority tendering for a specified time frame after arrival. If you're not ready to go ashore in that window, you either take a number like everyone else or wait for general tendering when a number is no longer required.
