Tendering

From things that I've read, tendering from the ship and back is by local two deck boats instead of the ship's tender vessels. Is this correct and how often do they run? Is the ride pretty stable even in medium seas. My wife doesn't take to small boats and the sea. :classic_unsure:

Wrong term used. Need to correct.

Which boats are used can vary by cruise line and day, depending on how many ships are in port, etc. you might want to ask in a few recent roll calls for cruises from your cruise line that have stopped there recently, see what was used.

The tender ride is only a few minutes long, it’s not far to the pier from where the ships anchor.  And if the weather is too rough they will skip the port, so generally it’s not too bad.

Anyone that rented a vehicle in Grand Cayman, and are from a country that drives right steering wheel left, have any problem with the British system for roads and vehicles? I have driven in countries that have the British system and you do have to remember left turn close right turn far instead of the reverse like in most other countries including the US. 🤔

Is there any kind of a 'town' where the tender lets off the passengers?   Trying to decide if its worth getting off the ship just to wonder around the port area with no excursion planned.

As long as you are tendering into the main port, you are let off right in the heart of downtown.  Lots to see/do/buy/eat within walking distance.

(On rough weather days, there’s an alternate port at Spotts just outside of town.  Shuttle buses will run from there to the usual port area downtown if a ship has had to use Spotts.)
