A Couple of OBC Questions

We have $500 in OBC.  We have already paid for the drink package and excursions.  On Royal, you can use your OBC for pre-cruise purchases, but I don't remember that offer being made when I purchased the drink package and excursions on the Carnival site..  I'd like to pre-pay internet for the 15% discount, but I'd really like to use some of that OBC.  I tried putting it in my cart and I still don't see any way to use OBC to pay for it.  Am I missing something, or does Carnival not allow the use of OBC for pre-cruise purchases?  Also, can you use OBC for getting cash in the casino?  Even if I use the $500 for grats and internet, I still won't use it up.

If the OBC shows up in your carnival account, then yes you can use the OBC to per-purchase excursions, drink packages and internet. Add the item to the cart and then go to the checkout page. on the check page click on complete purchase. it does not ask for any credit card information

after you make sure you purchase, the OBC will be deducted from the purchase

It's on my invoice, but when I go to check out, it asks for a credit card.  Any idea how to make sure it's on my account?  Talk to my TA?

what kind of OBC is it? Is OBC from your TA or is a promotional OBC from Carnival? Only carnival OBC can be used for per-purchased

TA OBC can not be used for per-purchased. you will need OBC from carnival directly

It's from Carnival.  I'll email my TA and see if he has any ideas.

One other thing too.  You should be able to cancel the drink package and get a refund to your original form of payment (credit card or whatever), and they use all your OBC toward that and just pay the difference.

Just an option if you want it.

No - I bought the drink package before the prices went up, so I don't want to cancel and rebook.  I was just hoping to use the OBC to buy an internet package at the pre-cruise rates.  The rest will go for tips, casino, and maybe a specialty restaurant.

if they spilt your obc between pax. if you have a on person no show , does all the obc go on the one account sailing ?

Normally you’d think it would but, the $600/$300 OBC that was given for Covid rebooking stayed in each guest’s name. Most of that has probably been used by now but there may still be some out there.

Usually the OBC is per person and stays with that person, so if someone doesn't show then it is lost.

You should be able to use it. Did you go far enough? I did a pretend purchase and made screen shots. If you don’t get these options there must be an issue. The 2nd picture is confusing because it says complete purchase but your don’t until the next screen.

Nope - I go all the way to the payment page and it's asking for a credit card.  I have contacted my TA and he is going to call Carnival.  Thanks!
