soccermom4 Posted September 5, 2022 #1 Share Posted September 5, 2022 We're booked on a HAL cruise out of Buenos Aires in March. The first night is in port in BA as an "overnight". We leave port at 6 pm on the 2nd day of the cruise. How does that work? Is the first day basically everyone boarding and checking in and doing "normal" departure stuff like safety drills and eating onboard? Then the "2nd day" you're allowed to go back on-shore and tour around Buenos Aires? TIA for the clarification.
CruiserBruce Posted September 5, 2022 #2 Share Posted September 5, 2022 Generally , yes, but the drill procedures will be done on the second day, before you sail.
john2003 Posted September 5, 2022 #3 Share Posted September 5, 2022 I would expect you could return ashore on the first day as well
Rare rafinmd Posted September 5, 2022 #4 Share Posted September 5, 2022 The procedures for leaving Buenos Aires and boarding the ship are pretty intense but once you complete them it becomes just like a port call. You CAN leave the ship the day you board but the ships dock in a cargo area and you need a shuttle to get to the ship and there isn't much close to the port so it's probably better to unpack the day you board and leave the touring for the next day.' There may be some people with delayed flights coming in the day of departure so the muster drill will not happen until close to departure time.
