Covid Cancellation Question

I'm booked for the Magic on Sat (9/10) and need to test tomorrow.  I booked this trip way way back...and I forget what credit card I used.  I paid the final payment recently...with a credit card that has insurance.

Here's the question:  If I test positive, what are my options

Will CCL give me a FCC based on all the payments? (If they still do that........)

Can I get reimbursed from my credit card for the last payment....and a FCC for the balance?  Or I  lose that portion?

I have lots of OBC....and I assume, if I cancel....that OBC is lost for good.

Only your credit card can advise what they will cover, but I would bet it will not exceed the amount you paid for the cruise with them.

Here is Carnivals policy

CRUISE CANCELLED BY GUEST

  • If you, your family members living with you in the same household or travelling companions assigned to the same stateroom cancel a cruise booking due to testing positive for COVID-19 within 10 days of embarkation, you and they are entitled to a FCC for the amount paid to Carnival. If you have close contact with a confirmed or suspected COVID-19 case within 10 days of embarkation, and Carnival deems you are unfit to travel because of the confirmed or suspected COVID-19 case, you are eligible for a FCC.
  • To qualify for the FCC, you are required to notify Carnival within 24 hours of receiving a positive COVID-19 test result. You must present your verified positive test result in a form acceptable to Carnival, i.e., a laboratory test record, digital certificate or healthcare record, which indicates your full legal name, date of birth, type of test, date and time sample was taken, test result stating “POSITIVE” and laboratory, testing site, and/or healthcare provider details. Handwritten test results and photographs of at home test results are not acceptable.

As far as OBC, yes more than likely you will not get that back (but it may depend on exactly where it came from to start with too).

Remember if you are vaxxed, no test needed

I sail 9/24.  I have been trying for 2 days to upload vaccination card to apply for Bermuda traevl authorization and I have failed!  I'm afraid I'm going to have to miss my cruise!  I wish you could show card when you embark for us technically challenged people.  OP hope results are good and you'll be on your way!

Yes...going to Canada (hopefully) on a 7 day cruise.

I don't expect my credit card to pay anything more than what I use the card for.

Between my CCL OBC, my casino OBC, my TA OBC etc I have lots of credits that I don't want to lose.  My dream....lots of OBC for the casino!

Oh well....gonna self test a little later today.

Karry, it shouldn't be that hard. Have someone scan or take a picture of your vax card then upload it to the application. Same for your passport. The Bermuda Authorization is the first thing they are going to ask for.  😎

I did just that!  I am at our summer camp.  Didn't have passport-DS2 took picture and sent.  Could NOT figure out how to upload-I was in PANIC MODE!!!!  Sent out an SOS and everyone and the bears showed up.  😊Mission accomplished!!!! For some reason it took a bunch of tries to get my CC thru.  Some security errors, then THAT went thru. 👍 I have to go back to school this winter or have one of my grands teach me how to do this stuff.  Youngest is 6 1/2 months.  I think she knows more than me!!!  Hope you are having a great cruise!🍻

Great! You should receive your authorization 7 to 10 days before your cruise. 😎
