Back on the ship after a nice day exploring Puntarenas.

The weather was warm as you would expect without being too hot.

There was lots of shopping to be had as soon as you got off the pier. Reasonable prices and not too many pushy vendors. I found a locally designed t-shirt for $12 that I'm happy with.

There was also some sort of parade and festivities going on so the atmosphere was very festive.

The beach right off the pier did not look very inviting but everything else in the immediate area was nice.

I found out the festivities in Puntarenas yesterday were for us to celebrate us being the first ship of the season. The president of Costa Rica even showed up and came onboard. As far as I know he did not make a public appearance onboard but that is still pretty cool.

Sunset as we were leaving Puntarenas.

You could still hear the drums in the distance as we sailed away. A very nice experience and wonderful welcome from the Costa Rican people.

I didn't care for the pork dish but the pot pie was good.

For dessert I had the amaretto cake.

Stewart is doing a great job. My mom stole my sheet because she was cold. Last night when he saw that he brought her an extra blanket I've never seen before without being asked.

He's definitely going above and beyond.

We're almost caught back up, not counting what I've not posted from the first internet outage.

Today is our last full day in the pacific ocean. Tomorrow is our canal transit.

We lost another hour last night and now we are just one hour behind eastern.

First up today is the lecture on the Panama Canal. Very poor planning as it was help in the comedy lounge while the theater was used for a port shopping show.

They are scheduling an extra show so others can see because the lounge was standing room only.

With the new shortened brunch hours it was closed when the lecture concluded so I made a buffet run.

Carnivals buffet is not strong enough to support as many trips as I've taken there at this point.

I made my own chibang style plate. Half Asian half Mexican.

The Mexican was surprisingly good 👍

For dessert I had a piece of tiramisu cheesecake which was also very yummy.
