What is it like being on a Cruise for Christmas

Lots of decorations especially HUGE Gingerbread Village Display.

Hotel Officers go "caroling" through the ship on Christmas Eve and then led a "Sing-Along".

Traditional turkey dinner on Christmas Day.

Santa Claus arrives Christmas morning for all the kids.  Great fun to watch.

Lots of fun but very very crowded-  lots of mult-generational families.

We went on a cruise that disembarked on Dec. 23, two days before Christmas. We got to enjoy all the decorations and festive atmosphere at a price at least 1/3 less than the Christmas cruise right after ours. Even though it wasn't Christmas I seem to remember at one of the ports "Santa"riding around in a boat and waving to us and a Salvation Army bell ringer at the dock in Puerto Rico with  music playing on a radio and him singing  Feliz Navidad to which he danced around while he  sang. Great fun.

My only xmas cruise was Brilliance of the Seas in 2010 when it felt like we might be celebrating the holidays at the bottom of the Mediterranean off the coast of Alexandria.

I’ll have a chance to get back on the xmas horse this December.

Not that ‘religious’ apart from specialized select services that may be held. Although this an NCL thread, was on a Princess Christmas Cruise in the Caribbean where there were snow machines set up so it ‘snowed’ on Christmas Eve in the Atrium. Magical! Ho! Ho! Ho!

My husband and I went on a Christmas cruise on the Bliss last year; absolutely loved it. The common areas were beautifully decorated, lots of people dressed up a bit more than usual, Santa made an appearance, holiday movies played in the Atrium, there was a special Christmas concert in the theatre, etc.

Some pictures and notes on the Christmas activities are in my thread from that trip; there's also a picture at the end of the special Christmas Day menu in the MDR.
