French Polynesia

When we were in Polynesia the Spirit's sails were always up, always glorious. These sailing ships are motor/ sail and the sails act as stabilizers in addition to supporting the motor. Speed is not even thought of, the ships do not have keels. Why would sails be important in the beautiful lagoon? Do not understand the question. Beautiful part of the world to be on a sailing ship. Happy Sailing
