CptBoatface Posted September 18, 2022 #1 Share Posted September 18, 2022 Of curiosity, does the wind spirit get up to full sail speed normally on this itinerary?
HuliHuli Posted September 18, 2022 #2 Share Posted September 18, 2022 It's probably unnecessary given the distances between ports. What's your rush? Or do you just want to see what she can do? 🐀
6rugrats Posted September 18, 2022 #3 Share Posted September 18, 2022 I don't know what full speed is. IME, the sails are not up for long periods of time, but this really varies on each cruise and depends on many conditions.
Strenz Posted September 18, 2022 #4 Share Posted September 18, 2022 When we were in Polynesia the Spirit's sails were always up, always glorious. These sailing ships are motor/ sail and the sails act as stabilizers in addition to supporting the motor. Speed is not even thought of, the ships do not have keels. Why would sails be important in the beautiful lagoon? Do not understand the question. Beautiful part of the world to be on a sailing ship.
