One or Two Immigration Forms ?

We will soon be taking our first back-to-back. Will we need to fill out separate immigration forms for each leg of the trip or will one suffice for both of them?

We have always had to fill out 2 immigrations forms whenever we have done back-to-back cruises. On the last day of your first segment, you will turn those into the either the front desk or the concierge if you are in a suite. And you will get your new ID's and be told when to get new pictures (varies from ship to ship).

Sorry, the title is another song.

We are doing our first B2B next week.

From what I can find out is

a) We will have to leave the ship.

b) We will be the last group called to leave the ship. (I'm not sure what happens if you book a tour for that day)

c) We have to go down to the immigration lounge, then wait until we are called to reboard. This can be very short, or somewhat longer. Depends on how quickly all passengers are cleared off the ship and customs is satisfied.

You are correct in what you have read from these boards.

If you book a ship's tour, your excursion ticket will tell you what time and where to meet for that tour. You tour will be given a number and when that number is called you all will leave in a group, go through immigration and take your tour. You will use your new ID cards to get back on the ship when the tour returns.

It may depend on the port. Last year we did consecutive cruises on the Rotterdam. When we arrived in Dover we had scheduled a private tour. The Front Office provided us with the new ID card the night before arrival. We were allowed to disembark as soon as the ship cleared, using our old ID's. When we returned we showed our new ID's and bypassed the check-in area and proceeded directly to the gangway. Very slick operation!

One caveat - we had to be back in time for the lifeboat drill!

We did B2B a few times.

Before we never had to leave the vessel. In our suite we did leave so as the staff could clean the room and did go ashore once other times we just remained on the vessel.

:D :D

I do think it has to do with the Country, Port of Call, and Cruise Line mostly...

last year we did a B2B on the Zaandam.. they told us if we wanted to leave the ship we could do so but then had to wait until official boarding time to get back on.. otherwise we could stay on.. which we did.. we kept our same ID cards although this was before they started the new picture ID system.. and used the same booking # for both cruises..
