Flights to Miami with Ian--28th vs 29th?

First, I want to say that my thoughts are with all the Floridians preparing for Ian. I grew up in Houston and remember preparing for (and recovering from) several hurricanes growing up. However, I have long been gone from the Gulf Coast and so am looking to those with more experience here for some travel advice.

I am sailing out of Miami on Thursday afternoon (the 19th) on Carnival Sunrise for a 4-day with my daughter, sister, and neice. I am wondering if you think it better to fly into Miami Wednesday evening or Thursday morning, given the current path of the storm. Currently scheduled Cleveland to Miami through Baltimore Wednesday night. While it would be ideal to fly earlier, that is not an option.

TIA for your thoughts.

IMHO, flying in either Wednesday night or Thursday morning should be all right with no advantage to either.  Your flights will all stay well away from Ian, and Miami will likely have seen the worst of it by Wednesday evening.

Enjoy your cruise!
