Mykonsis port

Our shore excurion was cancelled in Mykonsis and there are none available. Is there anything to see or do

that is walkable in the port? Just wondering if worth getting off the ship. Thanks in advance.

If you mean Mykonos, yes, it's easily walkable.  And definitely worth getting off the ship!  We docked in Mykonos and there was a free shuttle into Old Town.  But for the return we thought it would be more fun and scenic to take the SeaBus for 2e.   We walked to the windmills, thru Old Venice for the photo opps, then just wandered off the main walkways in order to get photos of the quiet alleys with the bouganvilla and brightly colored doors.  A very enjoyable and relaxing day!

Mykonos is a great port for just getting off the ship, using shuttles (if necessary), and just exploring and relaxing and soaking up the local scene.  Enjoy your day ashore!

Depending on the shore excursion you can buy tickets where the boats dock for an excursion to Ancient Delos.

Hi there. We've got a 21-day cruise with lots of ports where we've booked full 8-9 hour excursions. We were thinking in Mykonos of just winging it for a change of pace.. and doing pretty much what you've explained.. walking through the old town, seeing the windmills, lunch in little Venice, walking to the old port etc. We still want to maximise the full day though. Do you think that will see us right for the day.. or should I be looking to add stuff to the list?  t.i.a.

The only thing I would add is "Sit in a pleasant place for a while and watch the world go by."

 

Your day sounds like a perfect, unstructured day that is going to be enjoyed as a break from all the full-day excursions you have planned.    Just wing it and enjoy.

For sure worth getting off the boat.  We just walked around the town.
