Hotels in Seattle, prior to cruising?

Recommended Posts

Hello CC folks,  We are planning our family cruise to Alaska, with RC, June 2023.  We will be staying in Seattle 1 night prior to leaving for our wonderful cruise.  We would like some suggestions on hotels.  We would like it to offer breakfast in the morning, and be close to Pike Place, and of course be family and $$$$ friendly.  Can you please give me your thoughts & suggestions?

First of all, the better place for your research is the West Coast Departures board, here:

There are dozens of threads recommending hotels here. Take a look around.

Be aware, hotels in the downtown are not cheap during cruising season. The downtown is fairly walking friendly, so being close to Pike Place, which can drive up the price, isn't as important as you might think.

I don't know about that, but on our recent cruise someone sold water bottles outside the Windjammer ($2 each) on port days.  If you just wanted bottles for taking ashore, that might be a better deal.

Also, if water is $2, it would be a very poor use of your drink vouchers.

You are permitted to carry 12 bottles/cans of any non-alcoholic beverages, no more than 17 ounces/half liter each, at embarkation.  You could refill those as you drink them.

This is in addition to your five daily drink vouchers.
