When to expect to see the cabin for a guarantee booking?

We don't normally book a guarantee, but that is what was available at the time of booking.  We have a cruise booked for Dec 18th.  When should we expect to see the cabin assignment?

could be today, tomorrow, next week, next month, upon until day of boarding...just keep checking your personalizer

Latest we were notified was 2 weeks before, but others said they found out on the day of sailing.

 

It really depends on how full the ship is, the bidding process and a lot of variables.

Yes, pull up your upcoming cruise, and you should be able to see if there is a specific cabin.

Have you been checking for availability online?

Is your category showing sold out, guarantee, or are some cabins now showing up?

Do you know if anyone on your sailing has gotten Invitations to Bid for an upgrade?

My Dad's guarantee that we booked late August of this year for our Dec. 17 cruise was assigned the day after we put the room on hold and before we even secured the room with a deposit.  The latest assignment we ever had was 5 days before the cruise.  There is just no telling when you'll find out...

 

On a positive note, we have booked many guarantees over the years and we have always received excellent room assignments.  Maybe we're just not very picky or maybe we've just been incredibly lucky.

Star Princess Alaska, June 17, 2017.  We were assigned our cabin on June 16.  As we were flying to Vancouver.  

 

The bellman at our hotel had a Sharpie to write our cabin assignment on our luggage tags.

We got our GTY booking cabin assigned approximately 40 days prior to sailing on 11/26/22.  It just appeared one day (I was checking daily out of curiosity).
