shadowmeboy Posted November 10, 2022 Author #153 Share Posted November 10, 2022 Sunday, July 10th, 2022 - Cruise Day 5 - Juneau, Alaska Daily Like normal, I started my day from my spot on deck 12! Having sailed many times into Juneau, I could tell when we were getting close! It was a little wet today. Southern end of Douglas Island Unfortunately, no whale sightings as we sailed up the Gastineau Channel
shadowmeboy Posted November 10, 2022 Author #154 Share Posted November 10, 2022 Susan joined me out on deck. Since we had an early tender to shore, we just got breakfast from the buffet. Carnival Spirit at the South Franklin Dock Here is our Juneau port picture. They had put a strange filter on it, but it looked weird due the hand rail. So the photo guys were nice enough to take off the filter and just have the town as the background. I think it turned out a lot better. Max's M needed proof he was in Juneau. This is the area that NCL is working with Huna Totem Corporation to try to build another cruise ship dock in Juneau. I haven't heard any updates lately on its status. In line to catch the tender ashore. So we were scheduled for a whale watching excursion with Harv & Marv. We were told to meet them by the Carnival Spirit. We walk down there and the bus has already left. They luckily got ahold of the driver who came back to pick us up.
shadowmeboy Posted November 14, 2022 Author #155 Share Posted November 14, 2022 So my weekend has been a bit crappy. I got home Thursday late and just crashed. Friday, Veterans Day, was a "day off" from work, but we are behind in ballot processing at work and our elections team went in for 6 hours. I got home and went to come work on this review and the computer crashed. I had to reset it, reinstall windows, and I have been working to reinstall programs that went away when it crashed. Finally, I feel like I can work on this again!

shadowmeboy Posted November 14, 2022 Author #160 Share Posted November 14, 2022 Making our way back to downtown Juneau Bridge to Douglas Island My mouth was open when i saw the size of the Ovation of the Seas. I don't think I would want to sail on a ship that large. I wouldn't have minded eating here, but it was raining and the line was super long. We made our way to some of our favorite shops. Caribou Crossings is always a must stop. Then it was on to the Alaskan Fudge Company! Yummy! Making Peanut brittle in the window! We shipped our fudge home, and picked up some chocolates for a snack! We decided to head to the ship for some lunch. The line for Tracy's Mt Roberts Tram Love this picture! Heading down to the tender boat
