Cunard masks

Reports from the first cruise of Carnival Splendor state that masks were optional for crew....and passengers! And most did not wear them.  😮 I have the feeling the requirement is going to be dropped soon. Not good.

Our government protocols dropped the mask requirements last week, as long as the ship is healthy, and previously mentioned.

- Up to 3% infection, passengers and crew are no longer required to wear masks

-  Up to 10% infection, passengers are no longer required to wear masks.

That is govt, and cruise lines can apply a higher level of precaution if they wish. If Carnival can handle it, anyone can.

Currently on Majestic Princess. Wearing of masks is optional for passengers and crew.

Just received an email from P&O Aus for a upcoming cruise, masks are "recommended" indoors and embarkation.

5 day isolation if you get covid onboard.

Close contacts do not have to isolate, but have to be self tested everyday, wear a mask in public and not eat with others for 7 days whilst onboard.

On return if your 5 days is not up, its up to you to return home, go to hotel, drive etc.

They state they are keeping inline with protocols on land.

There have been no announcements on Coral regarding any changes to the mask mandate. They are still required when moving around the ship which are mostly adhered to. In sip and cover venues it varies. The main bars - Good Spirits, Crooners, Wheelhouse and Explorers have limited and well spaced seating so most people leave their masks off once seated. The Princess Theatre and Universal Lounge are problem areas with too many people not wearing masks during shows, trivia etc.

Given the length of this cruise and the demographic keeping the mask mandate in place is very sensible.
