My husband and I are flying into Miami International Airport to pick up a Cruise at Fort Lauderdale Port.  Would be grateful for any suggestions please as to transport from the Airport to the Port (or even Fort Lauderdale Airport where we can book an hotel).  Many thanks

While waiting for answers, check out this recent thread if you haven't done so already.  From your second post it looks like you are planning a hotel stay in Fort Lauderdale.  Give us a little more information on your requirements and responders can make recommendations.

We fly into Miami International Airport on Sunday 5th March 2023 arriving 16:45 from Manchester via Dublin.   Our Cruise is on Celebrity Edge, leaving Monday, 6th March 2023 at 16:00.  We have looked at staying in Miami and then travelling to Fort Lauderdale on the Monday morning but we think we would prefer to travel to Fort Lauderdale on Sunday evening and stay overnight there.  There would be no concerns then about travel delays.  Hope this is a little more helpful.

I would take an Uber or Lyft to your Fort Lauderdale hotel.  There are more suggestions - including Tri-Rail and a Larry's Limos in these threads:

As far as hotels in Fort Lauderdale, anything around 17th Street would be closest to Port Everglades. Dania Point near the airport is just a little further away. Many of those hotels offer shuttles to the port for a fee.  With two passengers Uber/Lyft may be cheaper since shuttles charge per passenger.

Aer Lingus?  Then you will pre clear US Customs and Immigration formalities in Dublin before departure which is a major positive for arriving in Miami, where the queues for Immigration are ghastly.

If you are staying in Fort Lauderdale area then I suggest that you use Larry's Limos https://www.larryslimo.com/ to transfer you to Fort Lauderdale.  The driver will meet you at Baggage and take you directly to the car.  So worth it.

After a transatlantic flight we find it money well spent.  Uber/Lyft requires data on your mobile phone which you may not have, or wifi and then you have the difficulty of locating the car when you exit the terminal and lose the wifi.

We prefer to stay in Miami for at least two nights pre cruise, and use Larry's to take us from our Miami hotel to Fort Lauderdale cruise port (Port Everglades) and also to collect us at the end of the cruise and transfer us back to Miami.

Someone earlier asked about tri-rail.  We have used it many times between West Palm Beach and Ft. Lauderdale.  It seems to run on time and it is luggage friendly.  There is a free bus shuttle between FLL airport and the nearest tri-rail station.  The Miami airport Tri Rail station is connected to the airport by a walkway.  If you want to save some cash, it beats a taxi or Uber.

The Tri-Rail station at Miami International Airport is located at the Rental Car Center. It's connected to the airport via the "Miami Mover" train, not by a walkway. You do need to take a lift upstairs to a walkway to get to where the Miami Mover train departs from. Please note the train schedule is more limited on weekend days. If I were you and following a long flight from Europe, I would stay at the hotel that's IN the airport and then take Tri-Rail the next morning using their more frequent weekday schedule. Get off at the Fort Lauderdale or Sheriden station. Tri-Rail offers free shuttles to nearby spots so you can see if Port Everglades, which is very nearby, is one of them.
