ABOUT YOUR UPCOMING TRAVELS

Dear Guest,

We look forward to welcoming you aboard Celebrity Eclipse® for your 11-night Great Barrier Reef cruise departing tomorrow, from Sydney, Australia. Before we set sail, we would like to provide an update on your embarkation time.

Celebrity Eclipse experienced inclement weather on the previous sailing which has resulted in the ship arriving into Sydney later than expected. Due to the ship’s late arrival, we ask that all guests with selected embark windows between 12:00 PM and 2:30 PM arrive to the pier 2 hours later. To ensure all guests are onboard and ready to enjoy their vacation, all guests will need to be onboard by 5:00 PM.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Celebrity Cruises at 1-844-418-6824 in North America or (316) 554-5961 worldwide.

We are eager to get your vacation started as soon as possible and can’t wait to Journey WonderFULL with you through Australia!

This indicates we will have a compressed processing time frame for all guests - I hope it is not too crowded or chaotic.  Our trains will get us there around noon and we cannot get a later one (due to the awful timetable for those of us who do not live in the metropolitan area).  Will have to also now find somewhere to have lunch.  The cafe at the Museum of Contemporary Art (right at the wharf) should have good views of the Eclipse,

Someone posted the delay on FB. News of the Eclipse has been a bit quiet both here and on FB. Hope your embark goes smoothly and happy sailing to the GBR 🐠🥂

It seemed strange that a late arrival should delay boarding for the next cruise.

However, looking at Cruisemapper https://www.cruisemapper.com/ships/Celebrity-Eclipse-631

just now (0646) Thursday morning, it appears that the ship is still en route to Sydney, which definitely explains why a late boarding is required!

A pity the email did not include a little more detail. Under the circumstances, it seems a pity that departure could not be delayed for an hour or two.

Best of luck! Enjoy your cruise!

We would be interested to hear how boarding is handled, as we will be boarding on 9 December.

It was pretty rough and for an extended period of time.  We've done 40+ cruises and don't really get seasick but I was kind of nauseous and had a mild headache.  Packing was fun with the way the ship was moving.  It's almost 11 am and we are finally making our way into the port.

Saw on FB that it's now a 5 hour delay. Never experienced that before. Best of luck and keep thinking about that feeling of stepping on board!

I had one of those in Tampa due to fog.

Just looked on Cruise Mapper and she was further delayed but on her way and now scheduled to arrive at first port at 1:00 PM instead of 11 AM at Willis Island on November 6.   Clipping along at 20 Knots.    Hopefully they will extend departure.
