difranco Posted November 2, 2022 #1 Share Posted November 2, 2022 Is boarding from 1200hrs back on the menu in Europe or are you restricted to the times offered when completing online check in. 1330 to 1730hrs in 30 minute intervals. Has anyone boarded during September and October. What is the earliest that anyone has boarded ?

The earliest offered in September and October in Europe was 1400 to enable deep cleaning to be fully completed between cruises. I’m happy with that arrangement.
Grandma Cruising Posted November 3, 2022 #3 Share Posted November 3, 2022 We boarded a few days ago in Athens. The earliest time offered was 2pm. beatnix Posted November 3, 2022 #4 Share Posted November 3, 2022 We boarded on Saturday in Barcelona. Arrived at port at 1:30. Although there were around 100 guests waiting, embarkation started at 2:00 pm. But very fast so we sat down for lunch at 2:30 in Windows Café. 3
muenchner Posted November 3, 2022 #5 Share Posted November 3, 2022 Why does this rule still exist? We have done some cruises since Covid with other lines, we were always on board around noon. What else is to be cleaned here, It has been proven that the transmission over surface surfaces is very unlikey

Riocca Posted November 3, 2022 #8 Share Posted November 3, 2022 Actually finding we are preferring the 2pm boarding with safety drills as you board and cabins available. If you plan the day to match it seems to make the day more relaxed.

To get on at noon, just to eat lunch at the buffet, while dragging around carry ons because rooms are not yet ready ….is not relaxing. Then attending the safety drill with everyone later in a big gathering is not relaxing, either. 11

If there are at least 600 guests embaraking it is no very economic to extend this time for maybe 8 hours. So quite different to other cruise lines where maybe 3000 and more people have to be checked in.
