Starlink expected to go live on Edge on 11/11/2022

I just received this response from Celebrity to an inquiry on the status of Starlink on Edge:

 

As of 11/04/2022 update: Starlink Roll-out schedule on Celebrity Edge is 11/11/22 (Go-Live) *Note: Can be subject to change

 

 

Looking forward to hearing some first hand reports of this soon!

I’m extremely happy about having the fastest internet at sea…If you’re paying taxes you’re giving him along most other corporations either directly or indirectly more money.  Furthermore you would need to avoid investing into the S&P 500 (tesla) or Google (spaceX).  I could also make the counter argument for Musk-haters to invest heavily into Google/spaceX so he can get to Mars sooner…

One of the bloggers was on a Royal Ship with starlink - they were reporting 20 megs on the down and 8 on the up compared to the usual 3/3 or slower

Was on the Millie Panama Canal Sept 30th sailing which was under 40% capacity, internet Mbps average according to my speed tests 1.5/1.4.  I cruise monthly and almost never seen Mbps at 3/3, it's often below 2/2 during non-peak times and it isn't uncommon to go way below 1/1 during peak times

@NutsAboutGolfI agree with you...I'm just mentioning what the article stated - I'm on Edge for Christmas / NYE doing the canal touch so it will be interesting to see what it is at

We are sailing Edge on the Panama Canal/S Caribbean on Nov 21. I will report back and let you know how it goes. I am going to get regular package and my husband will get premium package. Curious on the capabilities and differences.
