So if you already knew another ship would be coming in, why did you not wait and pick what cabin you wanted? Not looking to start an argument, just a genuine question.

Huh? Did you not see the part where I wrote “I chose my stateroom”?

We booked a specific cabin on the Magic and are still waiting for an assignment on the Venezia.  Reads TBD still and our TA has said that Carnival is telling them it's now a guarantee.   I think I mentioned it before, but we had an OS w/4 passengers and Venezia only has two cabins with that configuration and no cabins classes above OS so I don't see how any upgrade would be possible.  No one can tell me what happens if we show up with a guarantee and nothing is available.  I still have time left on my cancellation dates, but I'm wondering if anyone else is still waiting.  If nothing else, bumping this back up to the top so everyone else is aware of how Carnival is handling this situation in case anyone else gets in a similar situation.

Id be cancelling and rebooking just to make sure I have that cabin space

Prices are nowhere near the pricing that we were able to get.  I can't transfer in kind to another ship, they just want to apply the funds paid to the current pricing.

misread the post. Thought the cabin was booked on the magic *after* it was known the Venezia was replacing it. That's why I asked it the way I did.

We were originally on the Magic so went in like I wanted to print luggage tags and it showed what cabin I was in. Very similar cabin. Hope this helps

I reserved steak house for first night when it was still Magic.  CC was charged and paid months ago.  Not showing up on my cruise planner.  What should I do?

I can say this. I made my specialty reservations on Celebration before they were available to book through the website. They never showed up on my account but they had them all in their computer on the ship. I just printed them all out to make sure I had proof. But I never needed it. Might be a similar situation.

There is no reason at all why you don't have a cabin assignment at this point. None. Period! If they can't accommodate you in one room then they should give you two. Work with you or whatever it takes. Call and ask for the escalations desk, a supervisor, both. Email cclsupport@carnival.com, write John Heald, whatever you have to do. Not that you should have to do anything! Carnival made the ship swap then put the passengers already booked on it through crap just to get a room assignment. SMH.

Wow, I really had no idea all this went on.  I feel for you guys trying to figure out cabin issues.
We booked the Venezia on New Years Eve as a casino comped balcony for the 15 night Journey cruise because they had sent out reminder emails to use our offers before they expired.
I had no issue picking a balcony.    I chose a middle deck 7 balcony.
As I was searching for cabins I saw the cabana ones and that was when I realized this was like the Vista.  We didn't really like the Vista but I like this ship has a closed lido.  Years ago the Splendor sailed from NYC and it was nice in the winter.
And free is always for me 😁

Its been almost a month since carnival assigned me a cabin that is listed in my cruise manager yet i never received any emails form carnival about this like an updated confirmation email that has the number on it. not big deal for me but it just shows they are more behind the scenes issues with this ship switch

Thanks but that's the problem, there's nothing to print!  It's not showing up in my cruise planner.

Ah yeah. I had emails because the method for making reservations for celebration was email. Do you get email confirmations on dinner reservations made online? I feel like I get them when I buy cheers or internet.

No.  It just shows up in your cruise planner.  And for example, on the itinerary it shows day one-Sunday and a # of "excursions" you booked that day and it would show the steakhouse and time selected.  I figured they were just slow to post since the ship changed but it's not showing. ????

I just checked and I actually do have an email receipt for the steakhouse and cucina for my upcoming Magic cruise. It doesn’t have the dates and times on it though.

GOOD! 👍 Thanks for letting me know.  just checked my notes and I booked and paid 10/2/22 but did not get email but it was in my planner.  Then they switched Magic for Venezia and it disappeared.
