Balcony vs Oceanview/Inside for late April / Early May TA

I know Balconies are always better however, are they really that useful for a late April early May TA?

Unless you get a sheltered balcony they are not very useful in terms of comfort while sitting outside.    Sheltered balconies provide protection from the wind and elements in addition to fresh air.

I was very impressed by the sheltered balcony cabin that we were quarantined in. Get one on the south side of the ship, and you can sit out and enjoy the sun. And, if you are reasonably tall (more than 5’10”), you can see a bit of the sea while seated.

"Balconies always better"?  Not in my opinion.  We have always chosen OV for crossings, and thought they were perfect.  (We prefer OV for all our other cruises, too.)

Unless the price difference to too wide, I would go for a balcony. The OV cabins on QM tend to be forward as well, which is not good if the ship is pitching.

We stayed in a sheltered balcony cabin (Deck 5) for the first time durting our TA this October and I have to say that we liked it very much. It is a plus to get fresh air and you can easily sit in comfort when it is windy or even raining. We would book it again.
